DaddyBuiltRacing
I was at a local car show here in Newark called Light The Night. Walked next to Wendys on the sqaure and saw this thing sitting there: http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy218/guy_from_nerk/cavalier.jpg The owner said it took him 12gallons of gas to make it from Pataskala to Newark, also claimed it ran 9's. Im not sure about the last part but hey it might. Not sure what motor it was, didn't get a chance to ask him as he was on the phone most the time I was by the car. In his trunk he had what looked like a fuel cell with diamond plate on it but said thats where the antifreeze was. It was pretty insane to look at over all and definitley not something you see every day.

Nickey4271647545519
That car has been around for awhile now. Yeah when it was first put together, owner claimed that letting off at the 1/8th mile mark he would run 11.60s. It used to have a regular single four barrel manifold and a cowl hood. I like it, it's unique.

unfunnyryan
that car was never meant to handle that...err any kind of power, especially through the rear wheels. Anything more than 400ft-lbs of torque would twist that car a new ugly.
Skinner
its has been posted on here before (probably 2 or 3 years back) IIRC it has no rear suspension just a straight bar that the rear axel sits on.
DaddyBuiltRacing
It still has the cowl hood on it, I found it hard to believe it ran 9s as well but gave the owner the benifit of the doubt. I mean he did put a v8 in a fucking cavalier so anything is possible lol
2 Sweet
Wouldn't be surprised if it ran 9's. I remember seeing a RWD converted Cavalier in a magazine one time, with a mild built SBC and nitrous, and it ran single digits.

I remember seeing a RWD converted Cavalier in a magazine one time, with a mild built SBC and nitrous, and it ran single digits. Did that one have a rear suspension that allowed weight transfer? You would think with a solid bar for the suspension it would just be a ridicolous burnout machiene.
wagner
People have been making j-body and other FWD cars RWD for years. The one in question is just a bit more hillbilly than: http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Norwalk-2009/Norwalk2009-159/575806034_ifb8a-M.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Norwalk-2009/Norwalk2009-196/575825210_dpSoU-M.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Norwalk-2009/Norwalk2009-219/575836034_VK5GT-M.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Norwalk-2009/Norwalk2009-222/575837754_eBbWg-M.jpg Here is a Racecourt that has a 4 speed and a nasty small block ford in it for good measure... http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Norwalk-2009/Norwalk2009-277/575865544_3tCTd-M.jpg
