Okay, so why is it that my computer is giving me all these little red x's regarding a network connection being lost?

 

I've not had these before? I put my PC to sleep during the day and when I come home these are showing up. Run my cursor over them and they go away with no issues otherwise.

 

Wireless router, but this PC is connected via Ethernet cable to the router.

1394 is firewire. If you have a firewire card try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers

Cool. I know it's not a virus. I have a few firewire drives connected though. Will shut the system and drives down and reboot to see if that helps.

I they are all showing up as firewire, chances are something is weird with the controller/cables/device.

 

Unplug any firewire devices, reboot, and see if issue still exists.

just disable the firewire device in network connections or device manager, unless you use actually use that horrid interface.

Just curious at what is going on seeing that many icons for connections is not good. I am pretty sure you do not have that man IEEE 1394 ports on your computer.

 

Can you check something for me.

 

Go to start. Select Run. In that popup box can you type in devmgmt.msc . Click on the arrow (>) next to "Network adapters" and post a screenshot.

 

You may either have a bad piece of hardware, a driver gone wild, or a virus.
