Nitrousbird
- Work obligations - Family obligations - Hobbies you enjoy doing more (for me, I'd rather be out boating than at the track) - Time. Drag racing eats a LOT of time up, both being there, and prep to be there - Money. You can say that should have nothing to do with it, but money doesn't grow on trees, and if you want to have any real fun at the track, it is going to cost you. I was like a crack addict needing a hit from the rock when I could not go racing this summer. As soon as class was out I hit the track every weekend for a month either racing or going to a race to watch. Next summer it will be no school and nothing but racing. Mojoe
Can't see the vid at work. But money aside, drag strips are about the most practical and available to get to for racing. Thing is, that's not what EVERYONE is about with their car. If that's your thing, I completely agree. Get out there and keep doing it. Get that rush and get better while being around like minded or interest people. That's how I see snowboarding and that's how I do my thing in the winter. There are so many other focuses people have with car's now, at some point it does come down to the money you put into it. Otherwise we would all be Pro drivers, or what ever with our car's. wagner
Because driving in a straight line is boring? Who gives to shits and a fuck? Racing is racing and it always makes me laugh when you see the NASCAR vs F1 vs Bike vs Swamp Buggy racing who is better. People just need to shut up, wrench, race, or show their whip. greg1647545532
Sorry, I should have added, "And people are too stubborn to admit that they're bored with it and they should really find a new hobby, even if it's not car related, because a car guy isn't a car guy if all he does is sit around on the internet jerkin' it." Mojoe
Close minded is not the approach that this is leaning toward I think. The, "my interests are better than your interests" is just pointless here. Why wouldn't you want to be a well rounded auto person? As soon as you lose respect for one aspect of something you are interested in, you will limit yourself to what you can do with the part you really do want to focus on. Like it or not, all those hating on drag racing, at some point you are going straight on a road course, rally, or what ever. And in the straights is a hell of a lot of fun still. Is it not? This isn't Columbus dragracing.com, roadracing .com, autox.com, rally.com, caraudio.com, lowriders.com, blah blah blah. This is all of them +guns, porn, and a ton of other crazy stuff. lol. Point is, why turn it into a this is better than that?
Rally Pat
Point is, why turn it into a this is better than that? Because this is a kitchen thread, it has to automatically become a flame war. Linn1647545492
Because that the track you pay to get in the then sit there for an hour in line just to try to make one pass. Then some jackass in a 15 second truck oils down the track and you have to wait another hour just to make your second pass.

You have failed to present a logical statement, point, or arguement. Therfore I cannot argue something that does not exist, which in this case is logic. And in the straights is a hell of a lot of fun still. Is it not? The straights are where you have time to check your gauges, look at the trees, relax your hands, and scratch your butt. It's generally regarded as the most boring part of the track. But that's beside the point. You can't call someone who's been to drag strips closed-minded. I was open-minded and I tried it, quite a bit actually. I got bored. It seems that everyone gets bored. Guys in their 50s will still go out and road race slow-ass Neons. How many guys in their 50s go out and run 12s and 13s like they did in their 20s? Hardly any. You either keep going faster or you stop going. Amateur drag racing is a dead end. The only exception seems to be guys with classic muscle cars.
04silvrz
who cares? if someone wants to go fast, they have options. though i find road tracks more fun, they both are great ways feed your speed. what should be noted is douche bags that don't go to ANY track, and get on message boards and talk shit about one or the other. not saying that is the case in this thread, but I have seen it. greg1647545532
Hey I don't care what people do for fun, I'm just answering the OP's question. If drag racing is so awesome this thread shouldn't exist.
