KennyFKINPowerz
So I get a call from my wife that the next door neighbors house is on fire. Luckily the neigbor next to us warned her because I was not home. So I rush home and haf to park like a half mile away and walk to my house. It didnt get our house but the house on the other side got burned pretty badly. Thank god it didnt get us. Nobody was home and they were doing work on the house to rent it out. Fricken space heater. They are saying someone broke in and a neighbor seen him running from the house. Then the house goes up in flames about 15 min later while the cops are searching for the guy. They caught the guy and they think he knocked over one of the space heaters when he was running from the house. I have to say that I have a new respect for firefighters. They literally saved our house. If it were not for their fast response and action then this fire could have easily got our house. There is maybe 10 to 15 feet between our houses and I seen the damage it did to the house on the other side. Bad pics from my phone http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09204126.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09204139.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09205919.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09221937.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09221929.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09204954.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09205433.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg203/jallen_100/2010-12-09220729.jpg Edited December 10, 2010 by KennyFKINPowerz

jerrodh
Scary shit, reasons like this why I will never live in large apartment blocks. There have been alot of house fires down here in Centerville/Dayton area because of homeless people staying in houses for sale/abandoned houses/etc.

Patterson
ABC 10 left out the part about someone breaking in. So was it an accident or not? And they also said that someone was living in there and had just moved in, but were not home.
KennyFKINPowerz
ABC 10 left out the part about someone breaking in. So was it an accident or not? And they also said that someone was living in there and had just moved in, but were not home. I think they are still trying to sort it all out. They have all of our yards taped off with Arson tape and the arson investigators are outside. Our CPD Community Liason officer was telling us about the 911 call that came in. Apparently whoever it was ran in to another house. The cops tracked him down and he had property from the home so they have him in custody. Channel 10 came over and was asking us what we knew about it so they already had an idea of what was going on. They guy who was living there was a renter and had been working on the house for the last week. The gas was not turned on yet so he had space heaters in there to keep it warm. They think either the thief or the dog that was in there knocked it over. Maybe thats why the thief came running out. Maybe the dog scared him or something. The firefighters told us the dog didnt make it but the news said the dog has not been found yet.
Patterson
Terrible either way. They just updated it. ABC just said that its a space heater malfunction. I hate the news. Why lie?
Sully
Terrible either way. They just updated it. ABC just said that its a space heater malfunction. I hate the news. Why lie? Aren't space heaters suppose to shut off when tipped over? I'm not sure. Just asking because I don't know how they work. If so, maybe that's their way of getting to make another story. Billiumss
I was going down East Broad last night when all the cops and firetrucks were heading to it, then my wife called and told me she saw all them going north on Waggoner. Glad everyone is ok.

SpaceGhost
1.)Buy space heaters from a garage sale 2.)Wrap them up. 3.)Give them as presents to the tenants. 4.)Wait 5.)Profit?

AudiOn19s
If only this could happen to my rental property so I could collect the insurance and run... IDK, Similar thing happened to the house 2 doors down from us just a few weeks ago. Renters living there, they actually left a cigarette butt simmering outside on the back patio which ended up causing shrubs to catch fire behind the house and the fire spread inside. ...BUT the fire didn't do enough damage to completely write off the house, so the homeowners no longer have income from the renters AND are stuck with a house that can't sell nor rent while the repairs are being done. They're going to sell instead of rent again when all of this is finished but the damage was extensive enough that they're tearing the roof off the home right now because structural members in got damaged and need replaced. They're not optimistic of an easy sale when this is all said and done either.
KennyFKINPowerz
The couple that own the house moved to Florida about 3 years ago. Their mom has been renting the house out for them since they left. Sounds to me like a burdon that they wont have anymore HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
