Hey all-

As a potential next project vehicle...

Must have good aftermarket support, large enthusiast base, and be relatively affordable...

you know the type where unmolested becomes a key buyers term...

What I am thinking so far:

1. Mustang (5.0 fox preferred)

2. Camaro/Firebird (LS1 preferred)

3. Porsche 944 Turbo

4. E30 BMW

5. Miata

6. FB/FC RX7

7. 1G DSM and 2G closely behind

8. Corvette\MK4 Supra\FD RX7

9. Impreza WRX

10. R32

11. 300ZX TT

12. 240SX

13. 3000 GT VR4

My choices will probably get many laughs from those on here but my dreams are:

1. Honda Powered Mini

B-Series AWD would be my choice. When I get bored add a super/turbo charger.

2. AWD Integra

Using a drivetrain from a CRV

Both have a large aftermarket support as every ricer has one (driveline) and they are collectors (mini body). AWD is my next dream toy as I have had FWD and RWD. Gas mileage and power can be had from both and both are "sleepers".

Cheap?

Datsun 240Z...damn near anything fits in these

Nissan 240sx....Sean has the mounting stuff for a LS1 in the swap meet section to put this together.

GC8 Subaru Impreza...newer 2.0 swap, baby WRX

MKIII Supra - XJZ swaps, XUZ V8 swaps

In my book anything post 1990ish European is "expensive" if you want to do it right and make good power unless you are pulling the stock motor and going American V8. This year break obviously depends on the manufacturer as well it varies.

I would loose the T-type, the Supra if you want MKIV, the RX7 if you want FD, and the 951 lol. 944 is cool if you go LS1, but good 951's are tough to find under 10K.

what do you plan to do with it? for mid-ohio type racing, I can't see a better option than a 951. I saw a couple of those up there when I did lapping days and i think "shit eating grin" is probably a standard feature on those cars.

edit: also S50B30 swap into e30 M3 ftw.

Mk 4 Supra

TT 300Z

R32

B3 Quattro Coupe 20V

B3's don't have a large fanbase, they have a cult fanbase.

R32's are fun, but the wheelbase is so short with a lot of power + a track they become a top.

B5 S4's are nice for a comfortable, modernish, and fun/quick but you have to be meticulous on maintaining them and the fanbase is full of spoiled punk asses anymore.

944 Turbo will nickle and dime you.

I think you should combine your Miata and RX-7 into one and get a 13BTT to put into a miata.
