DRYLOC on the wall that had the biggest water issue just in case. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs765.ash1/165617_10150357494115277_537465276_16610282_8264754_n.jpg then me and my dad hung the rest of the dry wall. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs773.ash1/166363_10150357493935277_537465276_16610277_3890006_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/hs020.snc6/167020_10150357494190277_537465276_16610285_8279232_n.jpg the dry walls not done, still needs the corner edge and mud work done. then some hard wood floors and paint and we'll be done and onto the basement bathroom project, then utility room floor, then guest bathroom. stay tuned lol. TurboNova
you doing the finish work or having someone do it. If you have never done finish work I would not make your first project doing a whole room. looks good though
AJ
i've done big rooms before before but not a room this size i don't want to do it. i'll have it done so it will take less time.
evan9381
never understood why anyone would put a fireplace in a corner like that, unless it was at a 45 degree angle. my buddy has one in his house the same way...maybe even closer to his wall than that. smokin5s
Why did you tear out the bedroom? Are you plannng on not needing that extra bedroom?
TimTaylor751647545500
What I would do with all that storage. AJ, if you need someone to do the finishing, I have a good contact for you.
motozachl
The fish tank in the wall will be balln dude. And +1 for not doing the finishing work, pita work right there, hanging the drywall is the easy part.
AJ
the bed room was 8'x9'5" so it was small. we still have 3 other bed rooms. i have an upstairs fire place like that too. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs256.snc1/10322_266014010276_537465276_8976564_4154299_n.jpg

Cheap/easy and would look a lot better with the white trim.

evan9381
that fire place doesnt look as bad since the surround is even on both sides, but still, in the corner = fail. lol
AJ
its not like we ever use them anyways. we converted them both over to gas and they pretty much go unused. but every house has something thats not that great, mine is the fire places. AJ
i think that was the second thing i did in the house because the old ones were wore out and wouldn't hold a plug, so it was sorta a fire hazard.

Clifford Automotive
I have always done in-wall set ups myself. Where Im at now is the only place I didnt put an in-wall in. I thought I would move it to the basement to do the same thing here. But Im not moving my tank just to have it in the wall of my basement where no one will enjoy it. Though it would fit right in down there. Looks Good AJ
AJ
once the basement is done then that will be the main hang out room of the house. since its not done yet i haven't put much money into the tank other than keeping it running and everything healthy. once the basement is done i will add more fish and coral. the size of the garage and the size of the basement for a tank are the main two reasons we bought this house. we looked at another one with a huge detached garage but a small basement and didn't buy it even thought it was cheeper.
