Farkas
Yup. I Dont know shit. This is the Corolla we switched to since the Starlet was so sketchy up top. http://www.buschurracing.com/racing-jerrytoyota.htm I had my hands on this car more than Dave Buschur himself. I was actually the one that facilitated David tuning the car when we switched to AEM. It was only 60lbs heavier than the starlet, stock for stock. But yes, I don't know what I'm talking about. I am sure you have much more experience than I with very high HO light, RWD platforms. So, I will let you, the expert, have the reins here. LOL.. You're such a troll. Anybody elses' car you want to post up? We all know you fucking humped the 4G63 in that car while you "facilitated" David. BTW, there are already obsolete 20 year old carburated 1.8L 3TC turbo motors out there that are making north of 750hp and in the 7's.. I hope Buschur has something up their sleeve because I wouldn't want a 4G63 to be a dissapointment in comparison Edit* The 3T motor is going on 30 years old now, mybad. But you are indeed the expert in speed here. Im sure you have tuned 8 second street cars, Im sure you have built 150+ trap speed street cars. I am sure you have pioneered engine swaps (more than one mind you) that no one has done before. I am sure you have built or designed parts for some of the fastest cars and bikes in our hobby of various make, and model. (Stephanie Eggum, Albert Lioe-a-tjam, Dennis MOTORHEAD, Busa Wade...). And beyond all that-Im sure you yourself have owned, and Jockeyed, some one the fastest street cars and bikes every to be on this forum. With all your have done, Im sure my qualifications for making shit go fast would pale in comparison. So, what does your resume of experience include? coltboostin
I see this in the future dont know if it has been done before or not but SAM+JP= Turbo LS1 AWD colt IN-but it woul dbe a pain with a T56. There is no "bolt on" option I know of. You could use a AWD Blazer transfer case, the main case out of a Viper, the midsection that bolt to the rear of a C5 vette, And you'd still have to build your own adapter. coltboostin
Why you do this JP? It's been hard enough to keep my mind made up.... Listen-I have researched this years ago in terms on the best "go fast for cheap" RWD platform. I looked at cost/easy to find CHEAP, aftermarket support, stock weight, wheel base, width, tire size (max rear size), stopping power/upgradeability of stock brakes, strength of stock drive line. For these factors, I came up with 1)FB 2)Miata 3)FC 4)S13/14 5)Fox Body (Notch) After that-"good" swap shells get to expensive and/or hard to find to go on my short list. coltboostin
e30 has to be somewhere on that list. You can find any of the above much cheaper than an E30. Also, they are not at all "light", and have notorious rear sub-frame issues.

That was pretty much the list I came up with. While I'm settled on an E36, it's the hatch. 2800ish after the swap, and a little trimming it won't be gutted by any means. Leather interior, A/C, P/S all stay intact. The parts required for the swap are way cheaper than the FB or FC, and the only oddity is forward facing headers. But even that isn't all that bad. I doubt Sam would want to do something like that after the E30, With what he has to work off of I'd vote FB. Stock motr-Will travel

Stock motr-Will travel If you are comparing the E36, you have to compare the 3 IRS cars on this list. Miata- SO much lighter its no worth comparing. For going Fast Miata >E36 FC- Lighter by several hundred pounds, and the BEST brakes of anything on that list, and FAR superior to the E36. Also easier to find, Better Aero-and stronger LSD rear end stock (TII) FC > E36 S13/14. Lighter, better aftermarket, hell of a lot cheaper. But if you are anal about leather interior, E36 is for you.,
AWW$HEEET
gutted e30 I would imagine could be down in the 2000lb range. I could be mistaken. And the aftermarket is sick.
Patterson
Blown up E36's can be had all day for, 300-1000 . Popped HG, hosed trans etc. I honestly could care less about leather but if its there hey. As handling goes is say its on par with the FC. Diffs are somewhat strong. The Ti uses E30 rear suspension and diff. Obviously its been proven to take the abuse. And the great equalizer. Nitrous. I never met a 5.0 that didn't like it. (motors are probably junk at that point too)
