My 2012 upgrades thread (turbo Integra inside)

Some of you know that I have a turbo 4dr GSR that I have been building for the last 3 years now (can't believe I have held on to a car that long haha). Anyways I have been changing some stuff up or 2012 and adding new things. Figured I would give you a little glimpse of what is going on with my grocery getting 4dr. Last year I put the car into the 11s, this year I want to put it in the 10s.

Out with the old Comp stage 5 clutch and in with their Twin Disc unit:

Next thing I changed out was my valve cover, I went to a 2 port breather system off the valve cover instead of the 4 port. The front 2 lines sat too close to my downpipe. The red didn't last very long and I decided to get creative and involve my son in on the project

The intake manifold also got a new paint scheme

Last year I had a mysterious oil leak, looks like I finally found the culprit. The cam seal was destroyed and replaced with a fresh new one courtesy of Go-Autoworks

The desire to go faster is an addiction of mine and I know I will do so this year. In order to do so and be legal at the track it was time for a roll cage. I contacted my friend Andrew Compton at Knux Rod & Custom to tackle this job. The cage is a 10 point with swing out door bar so I can get in and out with comfort and ease

While the car was being caged, I also had him respray the engine bay since it had nicks and dings all over the place

I have never been one for flashy wheels or really caring what I was rolling on. My buddy had a set of brand new wheels for sale and the price was too good to pass up. While these are knockoffs of Enkei's I don't really care as I like them

Last year I was a little nervous running my slicks due to being on stock length wheel studs. So I picked up a set of ARP extended studs and new lug nuts

I am going to tint the windows to try as best as I can to conceal the cage haha. Although I dont really care about people knowing what I have, that way they don't have any excuses ;) I am hoping to put it in the 10.5's at the April Import Faceoff, last year I had issues with my clutch as I stated in the first post. I still was able to go 11.82@124 on 16lbs. I go to Dynotune on April 1st to have the car tuned by Steve Wilson, boost will be doule what it was last year and will have both a pump gas and an e85 tune on tap

Thanks guys, I got back from vacation yesterday and by last night I had the motor back in the car haha. My turbo hotside is supposed to be back in the next couple days so I can wrap the turbo kit up after that. Scheduled to hit the dyno this sunday, anxious to see what sort of power and times it puts down this year

Cam seal took about 5 mins to change out, not bad at all to do man.

Lmfao Patterson you're a dick! I taped the strut towers to help with prevention of knicks and dings in the paint, that and having someone man the hoise while me and my buddy took care of the motor

I mocked my rims up tonight just to make sure I like them before going to Jegs tomorrow and buying tires lol. I do in fact like the way they look and will get some better pics later this week. The turbo hotside is supposed to ship out tomorrow, so that should hopefully be on the car by Thursday. I got the motor about 80% of the way wired up, wouldve had it all done today but ended up doing a fuel pump on a Grand Am before class. All I really have left to do is put axles in, fill fluids, wire 2nd fuel pump, wire EBC and some other tedious things.

Tonight we got the dash back in the car and started wiring everything back up underneath. Its starting to look like a car once again. I also got hooked up from a buddy with brand new lug nuts, apparentyl he wasn't feeling my old rusty, paint chipping ones haha.

Thanks. Patterson I will punch you in the coin purse.

I drove the car today, I have discovered that the twin disc is going to be annoyingly loud. It chatters at idle like someone has tossed a wrench inside of my transmission lol. I have some wiring issues that I need to solve tomorrow and a few other things, was supposed to be on the dyno at 12pm, that isn't happening :(
