PRD2BDF
I have just noticed this. The car is now experiencing a rough shift from Park to Reverse but is fine from Reverse to Drive and Drive to Reverse or to Park. Do you think it sounds like transmission mounts? Car has 107,000 miles on it if that helps.
Aaron
Parking on an incline? I always used my ebrake even on auto cars because I died a bit inside when the locking pin would hold the weight of a car, then gets moved to drive.
Cordell
Sounds like a mount to me, at least thats the most likely thing.
PRD2BDF
I always use my ebrake and yell at others to use theirs too. It wasn't much of an incline. Checked it again when I pulled into my garage and it did the Park to Reverse "clunk". Any advice on how to check for bad mounts? I'm not real savvy with those kind of things. Rocky31186
I check them 2 way.. Visual inspection (rubber torn, loose, etc) And I have someone in the car rocking it from park, to reverse, to drive. While im outside looking at the mounts. Crossle
On your car, check the passenger side motor mount up on the frame rail. I believe you have the one that you have to take off to change the serpentine belt. It is common for it to go bad. Check them the 2 ways Rocky mentioned. I also at times may jack the engine up on one side to take the load off the mount and shift from P to R and see if it's better. You want to look for excessive movement.
