Exodus Posted November 27, 2012 Report Share Posted November 27, 2012 Any ideas? I live just north of campus near Clintonville and my car has been broken into at least 6 times in the past few months. I don't keep anything of value on my car but im just tired of dealing with it. If moving were an option I would but its not at the moment. Turbs3000 Posted November 27, 2012 Report Share Posted November 27, 2012 On campus I never locked my first beater and my 2nd one I kept tools in and always locked it and it had a flashing security light. I'm not going to say it made a difference but my roommates truck would get broken into and mine wouldn't while parked next to each other. Put a sign in your car that says nothings in there, the last guy already took it all. +1000 When I first moved here, my car would get broken into every week. Instead: http://everything2.com/title/Urushiol+spray ^^ Do it. Easy to find Poisen Ivy this time of year too. I've done this and it's excellent at dishing out payback and makes spotting the thieves, if you suspect them, pretty easy too :gabe: Cheap Blender $10-$30 Chemical gloves $8 Safety Glasses $5 Paint filters $5 Bucket $3 Spray bottle $1 Old duffel bag Misc. goodies for thieves Round up an old duffel bag and several items you think they will rummage through including coins, pill bottles, even a few dollar bills, CD's or cheap movies in their Cases, etc.... Don't put too much in it as you want them to take the whole thing. Put 1-2 coats of the spray on the items and place them in the bag and put the bag on your back seat, leave the doors unlocked. They will more than likely snatch your back and all it's contents. Wait 2-3 days and see if anyone has their hands in bandages. :gabe: Pure Evil and very effective.
