Not too much to report on as we had a housewarming party this weekend and were rushed with getting all the small things done around the house.

Did push it out and got it washed, looks much better now. There are some new scratches/burrs in the paint now from when I started the project, but nothing major. It happens, I planned on getting it painted in a year or two anyways.

Was able to finally make it to the scrap yard and sell off my old junk. Wasn't too bad, I dropped of 320lbs of stuff like the old crank/rods/pistons, shocks/struts/springs, flywheels, and miscellaneous stuff, sold the two cats that were from the car for $25 each, and the old oil pan for $4 lol. All in all walked out with $86.32 in cash lol. Better then nothing. The best was when I went to throw the old pressure plate out, and it landed on an old refrigerator sticking out of the door like so

And with said $86.32, I proceeded straight to Jegs to pick up a battery relocation kit to move it to the trunk haha.

Gonna have to cut and length the battery bolt down, but other than that it fits pretty well. It looks like its perfect, but there isn't quite enough for the it to fit around the battery, just on top of it...

Other then that there was a car show at a bar a mile from my place and got to see a lot of old muscle cars and some cobras, and got to take some pics of the hydroboost line routing so I know where all th

I work nights this week so not too much will happen, but wednesday night and friday night are off so I hope to have the battery kit and seats in place by then and will hopefully have my brake caliper brackets here, so I can paint all the calipers and put those on, and my driveshaft flange should be here so I can finally have only the intake and exhaust to work on haha.

Did a couple small things tonight. I wanted to get more done, but it was just so muggy I couldn't stand being in the garage. Figures on my one night off this week.

Anyways, started off by getting the rear seat out

946489_10100712549013252_594947451_n.jpg

I mocked up where my battery box would go. Looks like I will have to drop the tank at least part of the way in order to get my hands up to where I need to to be able to put the hardware in. I knew I would regret not doing it when I had the tank out originally, ohh well, thats how it goes.

got the cobra rear seats in:

1004584_10100712548683912_1391285773_n.jpg

Managed to break the tabs on the piece that fits over those so it looks like I will be hunting around for one of those in the future :fuuu:, but it will just be ghetto rigged for the time being.

Front seats mocked in. I decided to put them in to see how they would look because I needed the room in my living room haha. I still need to take them out so I can drill out the rear bolts, and then put new hardware in to secure them to the floorboard.

Kinda a crappy picture but I think the white suede goes well with the silver car. Should really look good in the sun.

Thats all for now, hopefully some cooler weather will show up so I can get some more done on it on Sunday.

No super big updates but I got the front grille delete and chin spoiler on, took a look at what my new floormats will look like, and got the driveshaft flange/ujoint all put together. Sorted out my brakes and started getting them set up to be painted, so hopefully I can get them painted later this week and then put them on next week since I will be out of town this weekend.

Mostly working on small things, getting them cleaned up and what not so that when I have a weekend (at the end of the month, woot!) I can spend my time focusing on actually putting things on for good vs having to worry about cleaning and whatnot.

Worked a little bit on it today, first worked on figuring out how I am going to mount my intercooler, bought some angle aluminum used for mounting garage doors lol, and I'll cut and bolt it together to make it work. Also bought a new grinder today! woo new toys. Just a cheap one, but should do what I need it to do. I'll get this mounted on tomorrow. Also mounting up the hydroboost unit and trying to get the steering pump and alternator on tomorrow with the master cylinder, adn get the calipers painted and on, but we will see how far we get tomorrow.

Tonight I mainly focused on some of the wiring for my gauges, worked on the wiring for my pyrometer, oil pressure, and water temp. Hooked everything up, have to get a couple more couplers, but everything is set up wtih quick disconnects so if something doesn't work I will be able to take it out and put it back together quickly.

and now pics!

Starting to wire them up

Wiring done (mostly)

Where they are going and how they will look in the car. I bought the holder from summit racing, and I'll have to clearance just a little bit to make it work on the gauge holders behind the mounting plate, but it should fit in there pretty well.

Decided based on other's suggestions to move the HVAC controls down to the bottom slot and move the gauges up top, so that I would have a bit more clearance for the shifter and so the gauges would be easier to see. Moving the stuff around in the center console really wasn't too bad, took me about an hour or so to move everything around. Still need to tap into the power for the gauges, but everything is pretty much ready to go into the car.

Well since I was tired of wiring stuff, I started working on getting the vacuum booster off. The bolts that hold it in are in a super huge pain in the ass area to reach, but the real pain isgetting that damn booster out of the engine bay. The shock tower is completely in the way and the studs are too long to give it clearance, battled with it for about an hr before we were able to get it out. but I do have A LOT more clearance now so the exhaust shouldn't be too bad to fabricate now. The oil dipstick tube will probably touch it, but I will wrap it with some heat tape and other then that I'm not too worried about it since it shouldn't really cause an issue.

lots more clearance

Nice to see you still making progress as I'm interested to see the outcome of your build.

but, if your girlfriend "let's" you have the garage there is something wrong. My wife doesn't even step foot in my garage let alone think she's putting one of my cars outside. :gabe:

Haha, someday I will have a big garage all to myself. She does have a decent reason to need a spot in the garage though, as her car was painted just last year and we would like to avoid it getting crapped on, otherwise I will have to rebuild it (again )

What is your GF thinking putting a front plate on that '91??? :)

Great progress! I really like the re-lo for the climate control panel.

Lol bumper came that way. It's a 92, and she got it for $3000 with 32k on it, so we couldn't really complain haha.

PLEASE, remove that ugly fucking door sticker......

Which one, the mustang side stripe? I like it, it's one of the reasons I bought the car in the first place, I don't care for when they don't have the stripe, looks too boring an monotone to me

I've been thinking about having it redone, but instead of saying mustang it would say "3PointH8"

I'm over by Tuttle mall area. Ya I take way too many pictures, but I don't want to have to do This build twice haha so taking all the pictures reminds me what I have done so I don't freak out about forgetting to torque a bolt or something haha

Haha, yah thats not far at all. If you are interested in checking it out just PM and we can go from there.

Well I got the three gauges done (for the interior at least) this morning.

Finished the wiring, and screwed the HVAC panel in so it wouldn't fall out

Lots of screws in hard to reach places, as well as all the cables made getting it in a bit tricky, but I finally got it all in there flush and even. Had to clearance part of the dash so the gauges would fit in the top port but nothing the dremel with a router couldn't clear haha.

1017388_10100736311173692_1813754781_n.jpg

Got the radio in wtih it and tested it all, and everything seems good to go. Just gotta run the sensor cables out into the engine bay once I get my other two gauges set up.

1045003_10100736310934172_1323583901_n.jpg

Woo Ipod dock in the radio!

1001506_10100736311028982_1447526319_n.jpg

Hard to tell with the photo but made sure that the gauges had lighting. Not terribly bright, but I imagine that the bulbs will need some time to get heated up and whatnot as they are regular bulbs, not LED's

Forgot how many miles were on her, good thing that was just the warm up, hopefully lots of miles to go now that this has been a total refresh.

Got the battery box relocation installed into the trunk and most of the positive wire run up to the front.

Battery box and tie downs mocked up

1075680_10100766863661262_1779280936_n.jpg

Started running the positive wire

1016421_10100766862822942_1268907988_n.jpg

Tying it down with some clamps. Just used some self tappers and undercoated where they went through to prevent rust.

943631_10100766863042502_1703191768_n.jpg

Found an existing hole in the rear seat frame to run the cable through

988261_10100766862982622_979212753_n.jpg

Running it under the panel so you won't be able to see it.

946272_10100766863132322_180483679_n.jpg

Working it in under the carpet and whatnot

942710_10100766863187212_1070107318_n.jpg

Supports in for good with some solid bolting and undercoating to protect it

1011953_10100766863252082_1288359979_n.jpg

Good to finally see the rear carpet and whatnot back in the car, its been sitting randomly in the garage for a while.

1013123_10100766863406772_1839735736_n.jpg

Just need to go get the battery charged and should be all good on this end, just have to hook up the power positive/starter/fusebox positive cables and will be good to go.

993633_10100766863496592_887842013_n.jpg

Speaking of running things into the engine bay, I should get all of these routed haha

992827_10100766863581422_93589620_n.jpg

Tomorrows goal is to get the fuel tank back in, then tuesday get the cables run into the engine bay, and maybe thrusday if I have time get the intercooler on, but probably not since it will be the girlfriends birthday weekend.

Got the intercooler on today after about three attempts at different brackets/locations. Ended up taking off the hood latch support and moving the power steering cooler line so I could tuck it right up to the ac condenser.

getting started, bought a length of angle iron and straight section that had holes in it that are used for mounting garage doors haha.

999368_10100768593504642_2123211026_n.jpg

Didn't take a lot of photos till I really got it on, its solid as all hell, I'm really happy. Always go basic with the brackets, no need to try to get crazy with bends and connections and whatnot.

Really doesn't stand out as much as I thought it would, pretty happy with that, looks stock(ish)

62318_10100768593280092_151302252_n.jpg

Gonna paint the brackets so its not *quite* so obvious, might have to come up with some panel to put behind the pony so you can't notice the ghetto bracket and the very old and bent ac condenser, ahh 145k ohio car, why must you have so much random wear...

1069319_10100768593364922_458033266_n.jpg

Tomorrow night going to get the fuel tank back in, get the driveshaft back in, and take my front calipers to get powdercoated at a friends shop, hopefully they turn out nice, going with a nice red.

Got a little bit more done tonight

Got the tank back in

993934_10100770160993382_1706127503_n.jpg

Got the parking brake cables connected to the lower control arms so they aren't flying all over the place. Just used the stock brackets, cut them to fit and drilled the hole large enough for the bolt that was already on the control arm. Also Tightened up the sway bar link on the IRS on both side since I forgot to do that when I originally put it on

1000746_10100770160943482_600377706_n.jpg

Then got the driveshaft on

45903_10100770160908552_950514861_n.jpg

I have plenty of clearance wtih the stock length driveshaft (mine is an aftermarket aluminum one) so pretty happy there

1069402_10100770160584202_2098248261_n.jpg

Also picked up a power steering line cooler since I had to get rid of the stock one when I mounted my intercooler. I will mount it between the intercooler and the AC condenser. Hopefully it should keep the lines cooler then the stock one since I will be running the hydroboost set up, not sure how much extra heat that will add to the system.

Nothing else to really report. Gonna be out of town this weekend, hopefully next week I will get the upper intake ported, get the wiring run into the engine bay, and then that weekend work on getting most of the remaining parts in the engine together. It feels good to have finally caught my second wind, I needed that break.

Just a tid bit of info to get that brake line out of the way...what I did was cut the end of it where it comes out from the radiator support, under the driver side bumper support beam. Then take the part that's cut off, and cut the other end of it where it is a "U". Take the U and connect it to where it was cut at the rad. support, use some rubber hoses (I actually think there are some from the factory in that area) and clamp it together with hose clamps.
