Benner
Went out to Alum today and while I had no luck myself, I did help fellow angler land this monster off a bobber and worm. 47" and heavy as hell. I'd say easily 25+lbs. Didn't have a net so had to get in the water and grab it with an old hoodie I had. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj32/Formula98/2013-04-07152228_zps544766a3.jpg

Trouble Maker
Most will never even see a fish like that in there lifetime from ohio waters. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Default.aspx?tabid=21873 Most will never see/catch a fish that size regardless of where it's at, but both of those fish seem huge for fresh/ohio water. Granted this was in saltwater, but was just thinking about that trip yesterday so it's funny this came up and also reminded me of it. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39158
acklac7
Guy obviously wasn't targeting them, bet he about shit his pants. And yes, bite is finally on just about everywhere, i've got two FAT 24" Eyes in the past couple days, and a few of my buddies have picked up a few 25's, spawn is still a ways off from what I can tell. Fish are hungry.
jeffro
NICE FISH! He must be one hell of an angler if he managed to get that ashore with whatever line he was using. Odds are it was probably less than 15lb test. I hooked one down below the alum creek damn one winter. I was using an 8" wooden lure. I didnt measure it but it was about half the length of the fish in the OP.

Drewhop
I picked up a new style of fishing over the winter. I cant wait to get out and try it out. Also started hand tying fly fishing lures and wet flies as well. I do alot of small stream fishing and tend to walk several miles. So I wanted to stop carrying bunch of gear so I could go further. Its called Tenkara. Cheaper to get started then actual fly fishing but ability to present the same type of lures. Both dry and wet flies. This is what I am trying. Basically its a badass cane pole

He was just taking his son out for a day of fishing. It lived to see another day.
OJdidit1738
Has anyone ever fished at Madison lake? I am moving to london in a couple weeks and hoping to find a couple good bank fishing places I can try out, I have only ever caught blue gill off the bank and I would like to catch something bigger this season
evan9381
I will be getting my kayak & gear setup this week to get ready to head out soon. speaking of kayaks...were you still interested in mine? i was looking at it today when out in the garage and the registration is up, and being that it hasn't touched water since last time you borrowed it, im gonna get rid of it this year. if not, no prob, i don't think i'll have a problem getting it off my hands
evan9381
ps if anyone likes to eat fish pm i have way too much frozen at this point. does it eat good like walleye? (im assuming its somewhat similar since its a hybrid breed). i don't dislike fish, but theres only a few i really like, and even fewer i can actually cook. walleye is one if so, i might have to swing up the road to your place next time im over at my dads. also have to see your new baby since i haven't seen you in a while.
