Well, just a couple days left until my 100 Mile ride. THANK YOU to everyone who helped me reach and surpass my goal for this event, it is all going to a wonderful cause that almost everyone one of us has been affected by in one way or another.

I did my final training ride last night, along with a HARD one last week that really kicked my ass.

There is still time to donate for this ride, if you haven’t already. I will try and get as many pictures as I can before, during, and after the ride.

I had my gear delivered to me last week, so I after last night’s final ride and my jersey here, I think I am officially ready for my ride. Stay tuned over the weekend for more updates……..

Ride finished!!

This was probably one of the most physically demanding tasks I've done in my life. This ranks right up there for me with pre-season conditioning for College Soccer and competing in a triathlon.

It was an amazing day to ride, and I don't think the weather could have been anymore perfect for the riders, organizers, and volunteers. It was about 62 degrees at the start of the ride, and then it was dry and overcast for the first part of the day. It got up to about 80-82 degress and the sun came out in the afternoon.

I ended up stopping at 4 rest points throughout the ride, I stopped at mile 25,50(lunch was served here),65,80, and then onto the 100 mile finish.

I was riding by myself for most of the ride, and then about mile 60, I started pulling with 4 med students from OSU who were riding together, it really helped me get through the final 40 miles.

The last 20 miles of the ride were probably the hardest because of all the hills that you had to ride. There was one hill towards the end that was one of the hardest on the route, I am proud to say that I did not have to get off and walk my bike up any hills on the entire 100 mile ride. To put it into perspective, I passed about 15 people walking their bikes up the final big hill within 10 miles of the finish. The organizers even took time to write inspirational messages on the ground, because that's exactly where you are starring when you're trying to 'dig' up the hill...........

My wife has been a HUGE support and inspiration to me for this ride, and she did some amazing things that I didn't know was going on behind the scenes. When she dropped me off in the morning, I was under the impression that she was going to be the only one picking me up at the finish......well, it so happens that she organized for my entire family to be there who live 2 hours away in Perrysburg, OH. It as truly an awesome surprise.

After the ride, they had food, beer, music, and it was a really cool celebration.

We didn't stick around very long as I was mentally and physically drained. Within 5 minutes of getting the car with my wife for the 51 mile drive back to our house I was asleep within 5 minutes and slept for most of the drive home.

Here is where my wife continues to be awesome, she told me we were just meeting 1 set of friends for dinner at a local restaurant right by our house, and she managed to organize a big celebration with a bunch of friends and the rest of my family (that I thought had left to go home already).

It was a pretty amazing day, and I want to thank you all again for your support and donations to this awesome cause.

Just so you know, if you still want to donate to my ride, you can still do so up until October 1st --> https://www.mypelotonia.org/riders_profile.jsp?MemberID=71373&SearchStart=0&PAGING

Onto the pictures!!
