Berto
I usually run 5th gear, unless my vehicle has a 6th gear, then i'll run that when speeding.

El Karacho1647545492
I pace the fastest guy on the highway and stay 100-200 yards back. Watch his taillights for braking in strange areas. Keep my eyes in my mirrors for cruisers on my six. Seems to work pretty well.

JaSSon
I run Waze, for more than one reason. I also only do a few MPH over. Also helps that cops don't look twice at my car

RC K9
Didn't know that, I haven't had a radar detector in years because they never worked all that well for me. Have had it for over a year now, have done 2 trips from OH to DFW and back and put about 1300mi/mo on my truck, no tickets yet. I haven't noticed it picking them up at extreme distances, but it has definitely picked them up over hills and around bends. Almost every cop down here uses KA band. K and X are always businesses and such. With laser, my experience has been if it detects it, your already busted. Fortunately, cops running laser here are relatively few and far between. I just like driving and my KA band goes off, and i'm like, "where the heck is this guy?" Then I come up over a hill and sitting in a parking lot off to the side of the road set back a little bit is an LEO just waiting. Ticket avoided. thorne
Waze is a really awesome app if you have a window mount, Not only is it nice for cops its nice for traffic. BTW what kinda deal can you actually get on the Shifter4?
owndjoo
I've got a hardwired setup for a Valentine One from the previous owner. I've never used any detectors, but figure this would be a good route.

Buzz
Most police use laser and laser detectors only alert you that you have been caught. A laser blocker is a must. I run ZR4 with 9500 in all of my vehicles. Waze is good too but nothing beats the laser blocker.

mseebs
I use a shitty Cobra. Never had a problem with it not picking up K/X/Ka, though pretty useless on laser. Always wanted to upgrade to a better one, but don't got $500 to throw out there.

87GT
If I recall laser jamming is legal because it is light but radar is illegal. Violates some FCC law. Maybe I am wrong. I use a V1 since all of our major highways have so many damn K band guns all over the overpasses and signs. I know where they all are so if I see more than 1 signal I know it could be a LEO. I use waze too I have a window phone mount and it works perfect for this. 8 out of 10 times waze has told me there was a LEO a mile before I saw him. My V1 has really only helped me out once in stark county when one was hiding in an S curve. I wasn't speeding but without the V1 I would've never saw him. All of his lights were off and he was hidden behind trees.

They now have technology in the V1 to block out the traffic radar. I have the same technology on my 9500ix and it is peaceful.
TTQ B4U
LIDAR jamming is legal in our state, but not all are the same. until they write you up for interfering with a law enforcement officer in the line of duty.
M0nk3y
until they write you up for interfering with a law enforcement officer in the line of duty. First off, find me the ORC that specifically states that Secondly, if you properly use a LIDAR jammer then you'll be fine. When you get hit, the LIDAR jammer will go off, you are suppose to slow down and shut the system OFF. Once this happens, the officer gets a speed reading, and you go about your way. Alot of people decide to JTG (Jam to Gun) and when the officer gets jam codes on his gun...he gets pissed and sometimes decides to make your day. As for RADAR Jammers, here is the literature: US Federal Law prohibits the use of radar jammers. Source: FCC Public Notice DA 96-2040 Radar Jammers are transmitters tuned to interfere with ("jam") a radar signal. The intentional use of jammers is considered "malicious interference" and is strictly prohibited by the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, as well as by FCC Rules. Anyone using a jammer risks such penalties as losing an FCC license, paying a fine, or criminal prosecution. The Communications Act of 1934 states: Sec. 333. Willful or malicious interference. No person shall willfully or maliciously interfere with or cause interference to any radio communications of any station licensed or authorized by or under this Act or operated by the United States Government. (June 19, 1934, ch. 652, title III, Sec. 333, as added Pub. L. 101-396, Sec. 9, Sept. 28, 1990, 104 Stat. 850.) Sec. 501. General penalty Any person who willfully and knowingly does or causes or suffers to be done any act, matter, or thing, in this chapter prohibited or declared to be unlawful, or who willfully and knowingly omits or fails to do any act, matter, or thing in this chapter required to be done, or willfully and knowingly causes or suffers such omission or failure, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished for such offense, for which no penalty (other than a forfeiture) is provided in this chapter, by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or both; except that any person, having been once convicted of an offense punishable under this section, who is subsequently convicted of violating any provision of this chapter punishable under this section, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or both. (June 19, 1934, ch. 652, title V, Sec. 501, 48 Stat. 1100; Mar. 23, 1954, ch. 104, 68 Stat. 30.) Sec. 510. Forfeiture of communications devices (a) Violation with willful and knowing intent Any electronic, electromagnetic, radio frequency, or similar device, or component thereof, used, sent, carried, manufactured, assembled, possessed, offered for sale, sold, or advertised with willful and knowing intent to violate section 301 or 302a of this title, or rules prescribed by the Commission under such sections, may be seized and forfeited to the United States. TTQ B4U
First off, find me the ORC that specifically states that 2921.31 Obstructing official business. (A) No person, without privilege to do so and with purpose to prevent, obstruct, or delay the performance by a public official of any authorized act within the public official's official capacity, shall do any act that hampers or impedes a public official in the performance of the public official's lawful duties. (B) Whoever violates this section is guilty of obstructing official business. Except as otherwise provided in this division, obstructing official business is a misdemeanor of the second degree. If a violation of this section creates a risk of physical harm to any person, obstructing official business is a felony of the fifth degree. Effective Date: 03-10-2000 Secondly, if you properly use a LIDAR jammer then you'll be fine. When you get hit, the LIDAR jammer will go off, you are suppose to slow down and shut the system OFF. Once this happens, the officer gets a speed reading, and you go about your way. You're assuming LEO's are idiots. If they see you flying down the road, tag you and the gun comes back 65mph cecause your jammer gave you time to slow down, yet they know well and good that you were going faster, they can still pull you over an ticket you. No speed detection equipment is required under law. Upon said ticket they absolutely will inspect your car for a lidar jammer and site you for obstruction if they find one. Cops aren't stupid. Your day will be met in court.
