Winter storm warnings about to pop. Should be within 45 minutes... NWS Wilmington usually releases afternoon updates at or around 4pm. The NAM model caved to the other models with a more southerly track. What does this mean you ask? Means the rain/snow line will be further south putting most of us in all snow territory. All snow= higher accums obviously.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER

STORM WARNING FOR SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL...WHICH IS IN

EFFECT FROM 4 PM TUESDAY TO 10 AM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM

WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

 

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

 

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 6 TO 10 INCHES.

 

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA LATE TUESDAY

AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. THE SNOW WILL

TAPER OFF WEDNESDAY MORNING...BUT GUSTY NORTH WINDS MAY RESULT

IN AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW ON WEDNESDAY.

 

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO

Looks like the stores are going to be packed with crazies today.

 

I avoid going to stores on the 1st-3rd due to welfare/SSI. Was gonna go today to get some snacks for the sons lunch and some lunch meat. Hope the crazies are not out in force.

 

ETA on Storm arrival I got things to get done. Will it hold off until after 7pm ?
