wnaplay1647545503
Car is a 98 intrepid I believe. Owner states the heat works when driving but when at idle it doesn't feel warm. Is this as simple as replacing the thermostat?
Mojoe
Could be that. Or, installing a warm toilet seat for those idle moments.
zeitgeist57
Is there sufficient coolant in the system?

Browning
my s10 had an issue like this. Flushing the heater core backwards cured it.
Cordell
Either air in the system, or a partially plugged heater core will cause this. Check for coolant leaks, take the hoses off the heater core and flush water back and forth through it, and retry. There have been times I've had to replace a heater core because it got so plugged, but thats far from normal. Typically its leaking somewhere, seeing as it's a Dodge make sure there isn't coolant in the oil (depending on engine) and check the water pump (driven off the timing belt on a lot of Dodges). Good luck.
cstmg8
Could need a water pump. I've seen some were the fins are dull and it just doesn't flow well. Prob low coolant or air locked though.
Trouble Maker
Somewhat related, what's the best method for trying to flush out a heater core? Friend at work's Passat says his heat isn't working and I guess the heater core being clogged is a common issue.
Browning
When I done it I disconnected both hoses, attached two other hoses that were long enough to drape over the fender and then attached a coolant flushing water hose attachment on one of them. I left it flushing for 10 minutes or so. I only back flushed though and it was on a vehicle that had plenty room in that area. I imagine it wouldn't be as easy on newer cars.
