write great content, get linked by other popular sources.

yes you can do it yourself. you need to CREATE CONTENT. not try to trick google with lame seo methods.

adwords cost will vary depending on the market/keywords you are going into. setup an account and just dive in. it won't cost much initially to just play around.

1. By "write great content" are you talking about the blurbs involved in my actual commerce product ads or in our blog that is integrated with our website?

2. How do I get linked by popular sources?

Get that residential address off the site.

The place is valued at 30 thousand which makes me second guess where I'm sending my money. It's okay to ship out of a garage, but try not to look like you ship out of a garage.

The site is decent, works nice on mobile. Got a non-annoying popup asking me to provide my email. More information on the products, previous Tacpacks contents, reviews of the tacpack individual items will all contribute to the profiling of your site.

2. How do I get linked by popular sources?

You need to send out kits for free to reviewers, magazines, bloggers, youtubers, etc.

Google's pagerank algorithm is a secret, but the crux of it is that you can add all the keywords you want to your own page and Google rightly ignores those as shameless self-promotion. However, if there's several threads on AR-15.com with titles like "Tactical gift packs" or something and there's some links in there to your site, Google surmises that:

1) AR-15.com is a non-affiliated site with a large following (it gets lots of traffic)

2) People on this site are curious about tactical gift packs

3) Those curious people ultimately go to your site

If they can establish that, then when I go to Google and type in "tactical gift packs," your site comes up as a suggestion.

Links to your site on review pages, blogs, youtube descriptions, and forums will all help with your pagerank score. So get those kits out to people who will rave about them and link to your site.

You need several content pages that talk about your product. Check that PDF for proper usage of h1 and h2 tags.

Then make blog posts and your product, stuff in your segment, etc. that links and talks about the target market you are going after. Again, GOOD content with lots of ACTUAL information is key here. Google is dropping the hammer on these SEO link farms with little useful content.

2. How do I get linked by popular sources?

Have popular sites that cover your product segment write up reviews and articles talking about your product, how great it is, etc. Sometimes these are paid, sometimes people will do it for free samples, sometimes people will do it completely free.

Next I would work with popular outdoors-type of forums and online communities to discuss your product.

It is going to take time and probably an actual writer. Do this in tandem with your Google ads and with the proper analytics you will quickly start to see what is or isn't working.

A place like http://seositecheckup.com/ will help point you in the right direction.

Having a blog is a good thing, but typically/arguably it's better to have the blog on a different domain because it basically becomes another ranked site that provides links to your main website. Perhaps duplicating your current blog on Blogger and/or other free blogging sites could be beneficial.

Use Google+ to your advantage. If set up correctly, you can basically turn each Google+ post you make into a free PLA add, and your page can show up when someone searches a competitor.

Use Google's and Bing's Webmaster tools. Perhaps create a Wiki page about your business, with links going back to your site. Add your company on https://www.freebase.com/.

I noticed some of your images on your site aren't using alt tags (rotating banner). Adding alt tags is good for SEO and for people with disabilities.

first question, what are ALT tags?

alternate text for images, so

<img src="CompanyLogo.jpg" alt="Company Logo" />

If the image doesn't load for some reason the words "Company Logo" will show up instead. Page readers for the blind will say "Company Logo," and web spiders can know what the image is.

Bob like everyone already mentioned, there is no trick to it any more.

You can pay the adword campaigns if you like, or adsense, or gmail marketing, or framesense, ect ect.

I would suggest, although FB sucks for gun stuff, looking to advertise on FB. Especially if you are trying to track video marketing/ source conversions. Google doesnt do quite as nice of a job here, and additionally on FB they can show you data on conversions from FB mobile to later yielded PC use conversions.

Currently if you are not seeking to pay for performance, like the ad campaigns mentioned, then you just need to do as others mentioned. Drive content. GOOD content.

Make a video series where buyers can document their pacs maybe, make some video shorts of pacs in actions, just general tac pack news blog picturesque stuff. You have a lot of IG followers, take the location as your website so it shows more content driven though trending users. Sometimes it can seem redundant and annoying to have to create so much media to drive web page traffic.

Really I think with you could be come a industry "hot spot" which collects all this information and opinion, demos, trade shows, fun facts, use-age, interviews, feedback ect ect, which then drives your buyers to know what you are dealing with and potentially what cool unique "surprise items" they could get being tac pac subscribers.

Finally my .02 // drive home simplicity for the buyer on your site. Make ordering a tac pack or signing up a 2 step process at most if possible, and optimize this for all browsers, IE Chrome Firefox Safari and most importantly mobile android and mobile safari platforms. Place the buyers where they need to be easily and effectively. this will get you a lot of user sessions and buy through clicks in the 10-25% range!

So, here's an interesting fact I just realized.

Google ad words says that for 6 bucks per day (180.00/month)that I will get 120-200 clicks per month (on my ad).

Yet, I spent 36 dollars on a 4-hour instagram "shoutout" (ad) from an influential IG'er with 600,000 followers and got 800 visitors to my website in that 4 hour period.

here's the question.... Will Google ad words do more for me than the basic "driving" of people to my website through an IG ad? If not, then i'll just keep paying for IG ads... right?

800 visitors... but how many sales? Was it a relevant IG account to your product?

If you target the google adwords correctly (trial and error over several months) you might get a higher conversion rate from those.

If the shoutout is turning into dollars, that may be a good avenue to keep pursuing.
