honda rebel oil change

My shop just did an oil change on an 05 (not too different) and just to let you know there was no oil filter, just a screen that is inside the oil pump. Its a bitch to get too so they recommend every 12 000 miles. Just use 10w40 i would say.

Change every 600 miles

i'm glad that you know how to do an oil change on a rebel but i don't, so how about some hints about the actual process. is there just a screw, or something, on the bottom that i gotta unscrew and let all the oil drain out?

There's an older model manual floating around, but so far no luck finding it.

The oil type specified in these manuals is 10w-40 SF or SG : Honda GN4 4-stroke oil or equivalent
