New car, new city, new forum

Hey all,

My name is Triston, and I own an '01 MSM IS300. I'm relatively new to the state, being that I simply attend school here, but I originally hail from Wisconsin. I've got big plans, but being so far from home (and working a relatively low wage job on campus) brings its own challenges, mainly finding tools to use, and a place to use them, as my home garage is back in the Motherland, and my cash comes and goes like the tides.

Really, I'm just looking for a solid group to ride, tune, and compete with (when the time arises/the car is worthy of it).

Anyways, thanks, Doc for the reference and letting me know about this place.

For those interested, here's my bone stock IS300 I picked up mid summer. Progress has been real slow, but should be made much faster in the next couple months since I just wrapped up the cost of rust repair, and the rest of my initial maintenance costs.

Plans, as follows, in order, not exactly my most detailed list, but worth a look:

Round 1/1.5 Wheels/Supension/Brakes:

-LS400 BBK w/ Ceramic Pads

-Enkei RS05RR 18x9 +35ET all corners

-Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 225/40/18

-BC Racing BR Coilovers + Swift (14KF, 10KR)

-Tanabe Sway Bars

-Tanabe Chassis Braces

-TRD Front Strut Bar

Round 2 Aesthetics:

-TRD L-Tuned Front (Make room for an intercooler

-TRD L-Tuned Sides

-TRD L-Tuned Rear

-TRD L-Tuned Hoop

-TRD Altezza Grille

Round 3 Transmission:

-Auto -> R154 Conversion with Kaaz 2-way rear diff

Well, either that ^^^ or use Level 10 rebuild parts in the A650e.

Round 4 Engine/exhast:

-Rebuild w/ GTE parts swap (oil pan, Pistons, rods, lifters, etc.)

-Swift Turbo Kit (Modest 9-12 Psi)

-Swift SS Exhaust

Shooting for 400-450whp @9-12lbs.

Thanks guys, eat it up.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys.

Don't worry about the thick skin, I frequent a lot of forums where civilization is all but lost and written language seems revolutionary ;)

@Rymer

I agree, though it is worth mentioning the stock Auto can handle about 50-100 more horses than the W55 manual alternative, which was quite surprising to me, but thanks for the good luck, for sure.

Anyways, thanks again, guys, looking forward to this.

Funny enough, I actually heard about this place at Cars and Coffee! I hope I'll see some of you out this weekend, since the good weather has held out this long, just look for the silver IS300 with WI plates.

welcome to cbus man.

Thanks for the welcome, Doc!

And thank you again to the others who have as well, I appreciate it.

Oh, and Paul, I'm a guy.

Lastly, I would love to make the holiday party, but unfortunately I may be unable to make it due to some scheduling issues, and, as much as it bruises my pride, possible monetary issues as well, due to some events as of late, but I will still be trying to make it work.
