How much will you be selling your current mower for? Seriously interested, if the price is right.

FS thread will be up soon.

Thanks to everyone how has posted. It all helps at some level. The 4 wheeler with attachments is impressive.

Looking this over tonight, I think I'll stick with the 52", due to my storage space and what I'm willing to spend. I store everything in a side garage right now, and going to a bigger deck would put something outside, or other reorganizing that I don't want to do. I actually thought there would be several people saying what I was looking at was overkill. I'm pleased to see there are others that are working with larger capacity than I am looking at.

Ryan, Husqvarnas is out due to service locations and several people telling me issues and constant maintenance. Two commercial mower companies said they had too many problems and went back to ExMark's.

As for other manufacturer's, Dixie Chopper I will look into, but pricing is likely to be too high. Grass Hopper was actually one that I looked at first, but I need to see other ones they offer in 52". Hustler and JD are out and Scag is still one that I know I can't got wrong. ExMark might not be in the running so much, after sitting in one this afternoon. Just didn't like where the controls and adjustments were and set up.

There are dozens of makers out there, and I'm sure some are good. At this point, it's tough for me to put my money on a mower that does't have a commercial level backing of good reputation. There is a 61" form ZBeast, at Home depot for $3500, and I would get 10% off that. But that is just rolling some gonna be pissed off later dice, a few years down the road.

All the issues my dad has had with his Kubota has me swayed from them. He's broken bolts, had oil leaks, 2 recalls, some broken metal piece that threw the deck alignment off, and some pto issue for his snow blower attachment on his tractor. That is too many problems in three years and a $10,000 machine.

only issue the Kubota tractor has had is blown hydraulic lines in 16 years. Maybe they just used to be made better?

Dad is in his 70's and has done tractor work on a farm, from growing up on one, to now helping on farms around him. Kubota's were a brand he always looked at as amazing. He was very much a Kubota fan boy, and getting one for his home use, I think made him feel like he was getting the Lambo of tractors. I think some QC has slacked over the years.

Ace services them right there in marysville. They have a good warranty on them as well, my buddy nor me have had issues. And I've got the kawi motor, he has the Koehler I believe

I have always wanted to test one out. Front and rear suspension ?

yup, it's got suspension on all 4 wheels plus suspension on the seat.... it's costly, but it's a dream... makes my neighbors exmark look like a bitch... I sometimes help him mow and I seriously mow around him just to be a dick.

The suspension on the ferris is like driving a Cadillac, so smooth. We had diesel in the past with a ton of issues, and our current gas ferris mowers are going through spindles a lot we even had engineers out to see why they were breaking so easy.

But the ferris is a smooth mower for sure.

Also OP, BPS is one of the most expensive places to buy from new. We used to deal with them all the time.

I went to EVO in Delaware this morning. Turns out Gravely runs a pretty solid discount for my work. Difference of $1100 less, and now I am considering the 60" deck, since it is still far less in cost to others. BPS has a pretty know rep for high pricing and even a shady sales story was shared today. Edited by Mojoe

Stopped by ACE in Westerville last night to at least look at them. They didn't have any. The guy I talked to couldn't even find them as an option to get it. So service near me, through them, wasn't happening.

I bought a commercial Gravely this year, they had a 20% off sale, saved $1400.

Thanks for all the replies and input. Every post was helpful. I ended up going with a Gravely ZT HD with a 60" deck. The HD had the 3100 series tranmission that sets it apart from many in this class. Thanks Greg for recommending Evo, in Sunbury. Gravely had a great rating for quality and reliability, plus a great discount for where I work. My out of pocket cost was $4000 for a new 60" heavy residential/ low commercial grade mower. Once I got the mower, I took some measurements and had to look at my options for adding lights. Often, I'll run out of daylight this time of year, when I mow after work. Factory light kits run $180. I put together my own kit with some touches I thought were fun and with better light.

That's awesome, I wish I had lights that good on the lawnmower when I was a kid. The grass gets too green and lush this time of year and you constantly have to mow the horse fields to keeps your horses from going lame. There were many nights that I spent trying to mow with 2 crappy headlights not being able to see 5 feet in front of me

I wonder why, mine hasn't given me a lick of issues and I beat the snot out of it... hell, it's covered in mud right now and looks like I went offroading with it

I have a 60" cub cadet zero turn. Love it. I only have 1 acre to mow and with the space my house and garage take up only takes me 20-30 mins to do. Do wish mine had lights though sometimes it's a race to get the yard done before it dark if work keeps me there to long. We're the lights a hard thing to add on?

Fairly easy actually. Add a fuse to the positive wire, between switch and battery, for safety. Decide where you want to mount the switch and make a hole for it. Figure out where you want to mount lights. The mower I have had pre-drilled holes for things, then just run the wire, solder and insulate/ weather proof your connection.

I'll have to do that over winter. Off topic. You end up getting your house painted? Work has kept me to busy to get to mine yet.

Painted the house in the Spring. Bought a sprayer and $600 of paint. I'm no professional at it, but it did what I wanted it to. The real fix is new exterior. What I want to do would cost $20k. So, I'm looking for other options I would like.

This post motivated me to put lights on my Gravely too, I as going to order the same lights, but remembered I had an extra set of Baja Designs Squadron Pros......maybe overkill, but anything worth doing is worth over doing. So pics are attached, the last one with the lights on is roughly 65 feet to the fence......
