Grudes
As the title says I am thinking about buying a Chevrolet SS and I was wondering if anyone owned one or had any experince with them. Thanks!
2 Sweet
They seem to be holding their value well. I haven't found a used stick shift SS for under $35k yet
l36tols1
If I hated one thing about the car it's the gas mileage. Big fast family sedan that everyone thinks is an Impala which can get annoying when people ask "Is that the new Impala?" It has literally every bell and whistle possible. Handles well for how big it is. Drove to Northern AZ (Sedona, Payson etc) in 100+ degree weather through the twisty mountain freeways at high elevations with no hiccups. Only took it to the track once managed a 13.3 @ 110 mph with a little tire spin. I'm still stock and plan on staying that way. Zero issues so far with some "spirited" driving from time to time. Jeffrey
Having owned a CTS-V and now an SS. I would go for the SS. Feels roomier and more nimble to drive. I think the SS is a little bit more comfortable. The only thing I miss about the V was the huge power advantage.
Forrest Gump 9
Buy a used CTS-V Or buy my E55 To the OP, good looking car. Kinda puzzled me a little bit the fist time I saw it. Didn't even know GM offered it. Definitely get the MT if you have a choice.

Not Brian
Those are okay deals. Not sure I'd pay that much for a 6-8 year-old car (even with low miles) but that's me. Also, I only search for manuals
Grudes
Yea the 6 speeds are defintley hard to find but im hoping that the dealership can track one down. I hear that they are only going to make 1000 units for the 2017 model year and I would like to get ahold of one before they are gone. Seems like you get alot for the money, magnetic ride suspension, LS3, brembos, etc.
dover
There are quite a few guys doing the LSA conversion on the LS3 if you wanted more power down the road. Check out ADM Performance for their turn key kits for the LS3.
TTQ B4U
The rarity of the car is growing on me. Especially the unicorn 6 speeds. As noted, it's not the fastest boat in the world but down the road a simple turbo or SC set up would change that and still keep it as solid and reliable as can be. THAT would be a kick-ass ride, especially if kept tastefully done.
cstmg8
I'm really interested in them, being a G8 owner. 6 speed, creature comforts, LS3, and a bit of rarity. It's not what you buy if you're looking for a racecar, but in the V8 family hauler class it holds its own. For something different, you can throw a Holden conversion kit on it at a reasonable price. Grudes
There is a rumor that there will be a few 17's with the LSa motor from the factory.
Wease
I've seen a couple of these and did a double take, because it just didn't quite look like an Impala. Then I realized what I was looking at. I love my G8 and if I was looking to upgrade, the SS would definitely be near the top. I still get people asking me about my G8, they have no idea what it is... RC K9
I can say that there were quite a few at the track last Friday, including a 700whp one; and they sound mean. I didn't see what they ran though as I was in line waiting to run as well with a few hundred other cars.

I got the same with my G8, "is that a G6... what is that?". I get it with my SS now "Is that a Impala/Malibu? They make a SS Malibu?" It can be frustrating but a small price to pay.
