RC K9
SS's are BA. There are a few down here. One I saw making 700whp+, and man they sound nasty.

zeitgeist57
I may just go with the SS. We have 5 of them coming in, in early spring. All 6 speeds and I thing one is going to be the ultra rare "orange blast". Z/28 would be something I could only take out when its 50 or warmer unless I try and put winter tires and brakes on it, but that seems dumb. ATS-V would be fun but more expensive to mod. The SS would be cheaper to maintain plus all the parts that are available for the LS3. I think the idea of an "orange blast" car the size of an SS with a 6 speed sounds like an awesome DD. Can that car be had new for less than a used ATS-V? http://www.thatcarlady.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Depositphotos_37541289_s.jpg YAAAASSSSSSSSS...are you kidding me that this is a color choice? 10/10. That thing will shine like the Sun outdoors after a good polish. Do yourself a favor and budget for Holden badges, too...take advantage of the car's history and ditch dem cheap-arse Malibu-looking Chevy bow-ties. I'd buy that myself, but I'm a spendthrift and I already have a big, gold-metallic boat to drive around. I HATE the idea of a new car, but if a $50k GM RWD car was a serious contender for your money, this SS purchase is the course of action I recommend instead of a used ATS-V.
STEVE-O
Where are you finding these? They sell with rebuilt couplers for about $900 plus the misc other things he would need
russian rocket
They sell with rebuilt couplers for about $900 plus the misc other things he would need this^^^ you can usually find used ones between 600-1200 dollar range, but on average is 800-900 dollars. they are much easier to bolt onto the chevy ss than they are to the camaro. less brackets and i dont believe you have to relocate anything. If you build one online you can get the holden badges instead of the bowties and can get your center caps in holden too. Pretty cool! zeitgeist57
$250 for the Holden badges, $45 for wheel center caps??? A bit much but sounds reasonable considering it would probably be that much aftermarket. I'M A FAN.

Not sure what the costs would be to add a decent SC to the mix but that would round out the package perfectly.
zeitgeist57
I built one online. That seems like a lot of car for $46-48k. Too much money for me, but I really, really like the SS now.

Get rid of the BMW, Pimp Machine and the CTS-V, put down a little money and buy a <8k mile one for some savings, add in a few bucks for the badges and rock the dang thing. You're not getting any younger The savings on insurance on the cars you have will make up a bit of the difference each month.Save

Geeto67
Orange Blast sounds like the name of a Donald Trump themed porno. Ick. Color is nice though. "Perfect Blue" is the perfect color for that car: http://www.bruth.xyz/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2015-chevrolet-ss-perfect-blue-poll-which-2015-did-you-buy-automatic-page-2-chevy-ss-forum.jpg I mean come on...it's called Perfect Blue, can it be any more on the nose than that? Jungle Green is also hawt: http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r216/TJ21685/ss-1-38.jpg Regal Peacock Green is also very pretty. Fun Fact, Holden makes a manual/wagon version of this car called the Calais in Australia: http://www.curbsideclassic.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/holden-vf-calais-regal-peacock.jpg

Good luck trying to sell a 1978 Lincoln, or a couple convertibles at this point in the year. Plus, they are off insurance anyway. I'll be storing the CTS-V as well this winter. No, no...I like my mix of cars very much. Even the LeBaron grows on me. I'll be selling stuff in the spring, but it won't be to buy a $40k+ new car. GM had a 20% off promo going on them for a while, you might still be able to find a dealer that will honor that discount.
