So one of CR's most senior members took delivery of a real gem thanks to Jordan and his hunting abilities to find such a creature. With only 66k on the clock it's no doubt pretty clean for it's age. Clean overall but paint wise, it appears to have been cleaned with brillo pads and a bag of gravel.

Needless to say Clark was kind enough to contact me for assistance and while we've never met he trusted in my work and for that I'm appreciative.

It was late when I got around to pulling it in and looking it over so I didn't really bother taking man before pics. Let's just say it wasn't pretty and once washed and ready to meet the buffer, the one thing that stood out was that it was covered in lots of medium depth random scratches. Almost like a kid with stick just went to town on it. The good news was they weren't through the clear but needless to say weren't going to just wipe away with polish.

Knowing Clark's goal was to remove the swirls that covered up the metallic flake and were very noticeable, I couldn't just leave the scratches but to fix them would require more than we initially looked at. With a phone call and a couple test spots via cell pics I dialed in what was needed and was given the green light to bring her back to life. He has old winter wheels that have rough plasti-dip on them but I did what I could getting them all cleaned up and sealed. The sealant maintains a matt finish and should keep them fairly nice through winter. Lastly, I received two different complimentary trial products for trim restoration. One I use all the time, but today a second product arrived and I had to test it out as it's supposedly the best. What better car to test it out one than the one I'm about to complete!

I finished up very late today and wasn't able to catch the sun which was a bummer. Friday is pick up day but hopefully the sun will break through the clouds to show off the flake in this paint. If not I'll improvise with some lighting if I can. Until then here are a few teasers.

Thank you again Clark.

Drop off Day: Yeah, she needs a bath and then some...

Years of improper washing and drying lead to swirls that hide the true beauty of metallic paint:

Another Item I couldn't let go unaddressed was the trim. Much of it was faded but the wiper cowl area and trim around the mirrors was faded to gray fairly badly was blotchy and not even in color.

This fix won't fade away anytime soon and is more than just a simple dressing. Back to original color and smooth and even in tone.

Compounded, polished and ceramic coating the paint now reflects like a mirror. Too bad the sun was not high enough to hit my driveway. Cowl area by hood/wipers is back to new again! Notice the wiper arms are like new too ;)

Again, these initial pics don't do it justice but they are better than nothing.

Looks good! As someone who's been washing (mostly improperly) my own cars since before I was allowed to drive I'm just recently becoming a convert to the detailing/paint correction world. What you people do is more an art like painting than many people understand. Much props for the hard work and improvements!

Thanks! I enjoy the work. I do enjoy seeing it pay off with each pass and buff off. My favorite part is when I'm all done and complete the final wipe down and then do the trim and dressing of the trim. Makes the car stand out I think. Like eyeliner on a hot chick :p

Looks good! I'll probably get ahold of you come early spring to detail the Vette  Can you PM me details on prices?

Will do.

Niiiiiiice. I'm looking forward to my appointment :D

Me too! That beast is going to look sharp.

I saw this car last night and I must say it looks much better in person! Clean car and with that low of miles what a find!

It's all cleaned up and awaiting your offer $$ :)

I picked the car up today and have to say, I'm truly impressed. I've been in corporate collision for 13 years and Tim is at the very top of my list when it comes to detail work. I highly recommend him and will be giving him my business in the future.

Thanks again, Tim.

Thank you sir. I'll post up the sunshine lit pics later tonight.

What do you charge for Full size trucks? Just to make it look pretty and protect it from the salt?

I'll send you a PM with details. Regards.
