Mace1647545504
Some dumb bitch hit my wife's BMW yesterday. She said her foot slipped off the brake but my wife can't understand if that was the case why she was hit so hard..insert stupid was on her phone here.. Anyway looking for the best body shops in or around Columbus. The insurance company has sent a list of their preferred shops such as a few toyota and ford shops...WTF. Anyway looking for opinions. Thanks mace

RyM3rC
Yeah, definitely don't take it to Rife's on Dublin rd in Grandview. Just LOL. I haven't tried their Westerville location, maybe they're less disappointing?
RyM3rC
Double because TruePerformance is also LOL. They did a halfway decentish job one time, just some debris in the paint. The other time a headlight bulb-shroud thingy was crooked as fuck, so attention to detail at the least is suspect.
RyM3rC
Triple because 3C LOL. All I remember from that experience is the c-pillar and trunk that are rusting and bubbling underneath where they worked em. Lasted about 6ish years.

STEVE-O
Aachbach. ..spelling? Worked on our van and was v good. Achbach... and if insurance is paying this is exactly where I would go My dad has known Dan the owner for years and there is a reason they have the bmw contracts and certifications no one else around does
cruizin01
Dan will definitely do respectable work. He will always use BMW parts when possible. We work with him to try and get OEM parts even when the insurance wants aftermarket or reman. Be prepared to be patient on the turnaround time. POS VETT
Rife's on Westerville has done me wrong. Achbach has done mistakes that I noticed on a friend's. Auto Body Collision and Glass in Lewis Center has done mistakes too. None of the body shops I have dealt with had done a decent job. Just pick one, chances are you would be dealing with one mistake or another.

After having fixed their work from members here, and a combination of his stories, I wouldn't recommend them if I was booked 3 months out. However, I was ultra picky with the Audi and what sold me is their experience on Paris Ct. when it comes to paint. The guy there (forget his name) who did my Audi has been there for over 34 years painting and came across very solid in terms of his skills and knowledge. He promised me that paint wise no one but me and him would be able to tell and he was right. Not a seem or line anywhere showed signs that it was sprayed. Finish wise, it was as nice if not better than factory. Thickness wise, it matched perfect too. My car had on average 6-7 mils total between all layers and the new paint measured in at 5-6 mils total and it was even throughout. Most every car I detail that's been painted comes in very high, much higher, and is very uneven. Here's what it looked like AFTER the work. Drivers Side Door, Pass Door, Rear Quarter are all new parts/paint. Here's a reflection off the rear drivers door Good luck and regardless of where you go, as I have no tie to Rifes, I'll be happy to detail/finish the end product once you get it back. Working on another older M5 today that is impressive and is going to look outstanding when done.
SpaceGhost
How is this not drilled into folks heads yet, the ONLY place you take your car in Columbus is Clifford Automotive. Rifes at Westerville is a no, and holy shit did Achbach completely cut corners and charged me for replacement parts and a year later I found out they didn’t replace and reinstalled wrecked parts. Fuck Achbach. Oh and they kept my car for 60 days and didn’t paint the scoop in the middle of the hood of my 05 STI, so it was painfully clear the scoop was a different white than the hood. Mace1647545504
The final decision will be my wife's. I will have her take it to several shops including Cliffords but she will make the decision as it's her car and if she's not happy I do not want it to be my fault..lol. I was the one that told her not to take her car to work that morning so I get to lord that over her. mace

Franchi
I've had nothing but good experience's with True Performance in Plain City. Had four jobs done by them over the past 4-5 years and each one was solid.
