hue jass
A new law's about to come into effect stating that if you're using your windshield wipers, you need to have your headlights on. If not, the fine is $100.No worries, you can still text and drive.

MattKatz
I think its a BS law...Just because you need your wipers.....DOesn't always mean you need headlights. What a way to wast energy. But yeah DRL and Auto Headlights FTW. scottb
More to do with visibility. If you need your wipers to see, probably a good idea for others to be able to see you with the headlights?

hue jass
We deal with idiots everyday that cant see us...SO I think its just another way for thee dept's and the state o try to bring in Revenue.+1. If you don't have DRL on your car and your not complying, a cop can tell from any angle and practically any distance if he can take your money. That's easier than shooting radar on a speeder and brings in about the same money.Plus, DRL aren't headlights.
Likwid
Plus, DRL aren't headlights. This argument is retarded.

MattKatz
how is energy being wasted?Does it not take power to light the bulb, which is created by the turning of the alternator, which is turned by the engine which is fueld by petrol?Does the load of the alternator not require the engine to use more fuel?Multiply this by Every car on the ROad...Its a LOT of wasted energy. cmh_sprint
Per the article about this law that was in the Columbus Dispatch today, this is a secondary law. For those that may not know what that means, you cannot be pulled over or ticketed for a violation of this law. It can be added to a primary violation, speeding, DUI, etc.
