Not sure if this is where to post this but here goes:

A buddy has an 04 Kawasaki ZX-6R. He has had the bike since about 8K. Recently we did a compression test and number 3 was weak. Four was dead on and 1 & 2 were ok. The bike has around 15K on it and he's guessing the valves need adjusted. I told him to do a leak down test to be sure.

He usually has me do work for him but I'm sketchy on adjusting valves that arent the rocker arm type. (And the fact its not my bike).

Anyways he's asking what shop to take it too? He got price quotes from Hardings, State 8, and MPH. Hardings was the cheapest and MPH was the highest. I know Doug at MPH and recomended going their.

Any advice I can give to him would be greatly appreciated!

DucRX, but Pauly will have to chime in if he's got availability.

He's in Ravenna

Reuben's a good guy, so if you're down that way 35motorsports is probably your best bet.

I know Doug @ MPH is a bit of a dick, I've known him and raced with him for a LONG time, but the guy knows his shit. More expensive than the dealership? Not surprised there either. That being said, I wouldn't take my bike to either of the two places you mentioned. Period.

Where's the shop located? I've been through Ravenna many times and dont remember seeing it. Is it close to the Macdonalds & BP close to RT 5?

It's his house :)

Pauly's not an "overhead" kind of guy, big fan of the keep it simple stupid mentality, but does top notch work.

oh fuck, paul, i can't cover for you anymore. he knows who you are! RUN!

WOW!.. What a small world... I remember when Scorpion lids first hit he was trying to talk me into one. I had came into the shop and he warrantied a broken side piece off my Arai Tommy Gun. I went back later on to buy a jacket and lid from him but he had left CR. Lol, this is too funny...
