Why doesn 200hp make that a deciding factor? If that's the case, why isn't there a BMW 1000 in your garage?

price?

but I do agree that it's kind of silly to want a bike just because it has 200hp... How many of use are actually using 100hp?

IF you can even rationalize a 1000cc inline-4 as a street bike, the R1 probably offers the most usable power, and that's a big "if" for me.

I heard the ZX10 turns though.

WHat source? Until they start racing them, nobody is going to know. Trust me, magazine guys (outside maybe RRW) aren't going to find the chatter issues... Especially the guys that were at Mid-Ohio "testing" the RSVR and BMW...

But that said, it is exciting to see what is coming. Like I had stated when the BMW came around - it will be a hero bike for a year and then the big 4 will send it backwards. This is the start and the 2012 GSXR1000 is the next hit. Yamaha will update around that time, also. Hero to zero in a 1-2 year timeline.

However, as exciting as the new ZX10 is, it has been that way for years with Kawasaki. They always and will forever have a great power plant. But, the chasis is always leaving everyone feeling like shit. I hope I stand corrected, but until mid season when we see them raced and there are enough miles logged on street bikes, we all will never know and we rely on what the comic books tell us...

In the end, BMW's days are numbered, but I think what they were able to do is awesome and hopefully, they become a 5th bike to consider amongst the in-lines. They certainly will replace Honda as an option and I think they willsit amongst the top 4 overall in some fashion as long as they stick with it.
