Thanks guys...I get so excited everytime i look at it. i just want it done. ive always wanted to build a bike, but it was a bucketlist item-thinking it wouldnt be a possibility till much later in life.

doing some finishing work on the seat...and sealing the tank this weekend. will update as always.

My first bike was a 1972 Honda 500 Four, green and black.

My father and my 2 uncles all bought this model new in 72.

I purchased mine from my uncle in 1987. I sold it to my friend when I got married in 1993. Friend crashed it in 1994.

I was able to locate the crashed bike. I am thinking of buying it back just to restore. I know I will end up spending way more money that what an already restored/streetable 72 500 is worth.

BUT, any other bike would not be MY bike.

Update...

Got a hold of the engine builder...eta for engine is next week.

Spent some money yesterday on eBay...picked up a trail tech vapor and dash along with a gsxr1000 master cylinder.

Picked up a battery that fits nicely under seat cowl.

Finishing up seat and cowl...just a yoga mat for q cushion...just need to touch up some body filler...paint it...wrap cushion

...aslo, master cylinder is in, seems to be in good shape. need a fluid resi and some brake lines. Put in an offer on some goodridge lines off ebay for 60bucks, that are priced at 70...well see if the sell takes. The lines are the dual lines from the master and not the split lines at the lower triple tree. Ive read that these give best feel...i just thought theyd be easier to route.

Made some brackets...Got the speedo mounted along with the light...they essentially mount together off where the stock gixxer ignition screws to the top clamp.

I do not have a welder so my brackets are quite simple and just bolted together but they work...atleast for a mock-up.

As you can see in the last pic, i cut the ring that housed the ignition so i could position the speedo better. i will still need to clean the cuts up however.

All in all im very happy with the vapor thus far...and i havent even gotten it hook-up.

Also, i think i might try to make some type of cowling to cover the wires and and opening above the headlight.

Tip for some classic body work, maybe a front quarter fairing/cowl will suit your taste.

Just an example, there are plenty others...

perhaps a bit too classic for what im going for...im thinking something a bit smaller like a old style buell flyscreen or duc monster screen.

ive got some extra fiberglass materials so maybe ill make something tomorrow...and after all the experience i gained from making the tail section (LOL)...it should be a sinch.
