Scruit
http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/06/30/massachusetts.pool.woman.body/index.html?iref=NS1People continued to swim in the pool while the body was in there. Water was described as 'cloudy'.Who here would swim in a pool with water so dirty you can't see the bottom? I wouldn't.

crb
Cloudy hell if you cant see a dead body there's something wrong with your pool. Maybe they need to make a pool turn blue around a body like the stuff that turns per blue.
alienpi
It sounds like the lifeguards and inspectors were paid to look the other way. I bet the woman had a huge life insurance policy.
redkow97
at the very least, the neighbors she came with should be under some SERIOUS scrutiny. She went down the water slide with the kid, never came up, and no one said anything? come on... madcat6183
Yeah I swim in lakes/ponds, but a treated pool? If I couldnt see the bottom heck no. Similar thing happened in my neighborhood growing up. House had an inground pool, 2 yr old was playing by it, fell in. Pool water was green from algae etc, basically it was worse than a pond. They found the kid a few minutes later, never knew if he made it but guessing now as they moved out a few months later.PS They were total white trash. MidgetTodd
If it was the deep end then yes. I've been on a drowning and done water rescue classes. In the normal 10 to 12 foot diving area of a pool you will not see a body on the bottom of a treated chlorinated pool from pool side. That was the hardest part of our rescue class, actually finding the training dummy

Scruit
I used to have a pool and it was a pain to keep clean. But I would never get in the pool if I couldn't see the bottom. Sure, you can't see the bottom of lakes etc, but you don't go in them barefoot. At least I don't. Don't fancy having a broken bottle jammed in my foot. gidet
I like how the people that were with her didn't say anything about her being missing. FAIL
