The lanes aren't wide enough as it is and these morons drive down the middle between two semis. They don't use common sense out there. One nearly went down a month or so a go between me and a car carrier. As long as I'm not held responsible for death of the lane splitter go for it! You split the lane, you take the responsibility! Motorcycles lane splitting in areas outsude that i havent had an issue, but like i said they dont have common sense. Just my 2 cents.
