Electric trailer brakes: no battery

On my pop-up they work from the from the connector tied to the van. I need to replace my non-existent battery so I can run the fridge during the day while the trailer sits at work before I go to the track. Getting tired of hauling a cooler just to empty it into the fridge then.

The battery is just to activate the brakes in case of a disconnect, right? Battery I'm talking about is mounted on the trailer, and it's about the size of a motorcycle battery.

Yes just fine, the battery is only for the breakaway switch to apply the brakes if the trailer comes unhooked from truck
