Need to remove my tire to take to Hoblick for a new one today, was going to ride but the cords are showing just enough to make me not want to ride it the 2 hours to him

Secure the front end, jack under point where swingarm meets frame.

Same way you put it on a bike stand. Put the jackstands at a 45* against the spools put a foot against each stand and pull the bike back onto them. Easier with 2 people

I made myself one of these things a while back. I didn't have any scrap lying around, so it ran about $30 in parts. It works well enough to get the wheels off and on.
