ducatihottie999
Tons of rumors on twitter and racing websites Rossi just signed a 2 year deal with Yamaha. Also Spies is headed to BMW WSBK. No links cause i suck but just google. I think its funny Stomer could ride a Ducati to championships but not Rossi the "best roadracer ever?" Cant wait to see if he can produce next year on a Yamaha. C-bus
Not bashing Ducati at all, but good riders seem to struggle staying competitive on them at this level. I'm a big Rossi and Hayden fan, so this move gives me some hope that I'll see at least one on a podium.

Moto-Brian
Also understand that then and naow are very different. The Ducati hasn't kept up with the other brands and has fallen well back. Also, Stoner had the highest number of crashes the season he won the champioship on the Duc. Proof it was a very tough animal to tame. But, Casey likes loose...Saying Rossi is washed up because he hasn't done much with the bike is silly. Why would you stik your neck out and push if progress is so slow to come? You cannot compare when Casey rode around issues and Rossi wants to make chages. I'd say proof in the fact that the Yamaha is one of the BEST bikes on the grid was highly due to Rossi's development skills. In ay case, I haven't seen any credible sources claim any of these comments, but see Rossi to Yamaha and even mentioned in the Hopper thread BMW for Spies... shadyone
Rossi had the Most.. I wont call it luck, problem free time at Yamaha. I'm glad he is back and I cant wait to see Spies in WSBK..

Hailwood
Confirmed as of this morningFriday 10th August, 2012 - Gerno di Lesmo (Italy)It is with great pleasure that Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd confirms the signing of Valentino Rossi to ride for the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team for 2013 and 2014.Valentino Rossi first joined Yamaha in 2004 and achieved four MotoGP World Champion titles with the Yamaha YZR-M1 in 2004 & 2005 and again in 2008 & 2009. He won 46 Grand Prix races with Yamaha over a 7 year period before leaving at the end of the 2010 MotoGP season.Rossi, who is presently 8th in the Championship standings, will partner Jorge Lorenzo who currently leads the 2012 MotoGP World Championship by 23 points, having taken five victories from the first ten completed races of the 18 race series.Lin JarvisManaging Director, Yamaha Motor Racing "This announcement is once again excellent news for Yamaha. In June we were able to sign Jorge Lorenzo for the 2013-14 campaign and now we are able to confirm Valentino Rossi for the next two years. In doing so we have been able to put together the strongest possible team to challenge for victories and to promote the Yamaha brand. We have run this ?super team' together in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and during that time we achieved the ?triple crown' titles with Rider, Manufacturer and Team World Championship victories for three consecutive years. The target for the future is obvious and we will do our utmost to achieve our goals.I have no doubt that with the experience, knowledge, skills and speed of these two great champion riders we will be able to challenge for many race wins and for the 2013 & 2014 World Championship titles. The signing of Valentino completes our future planning for the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team. Now that this is done we will put our 100% efforts into completing the job at hand and to supporting Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo in their search for race victories and for Jorge's 2012 World Championship title challenge."Next season should be pretty interesting.

4DAIVI PAI2K5
I wanted Rossi to stick with Duc. but I completely understand why he left. Duc wouldnt pull their heads out of their asses. Sad to see Ben go to WSBK but at least that will give me someone in WSBK to pull for.
SJC1000rr
Only think I have found on Spies is that he is in Negotiations with BMW for next year. Their boss said 70-80% that he would come back to WSBK, but nothing is confirmed yet. Not even on his Twitter Account.

BMMW
Next season should be pretty interesting.Wasn't this season's accomplishments and failures good enough? I'm more than happy with the success' of those who want it bad enough. And full of anguish for those who fight the bad luck. And then there's those who make excuses and jump ship.Lorenzo, Spies, rosie ... you put them in order.

The bike isn't as competative as he wants it to be and I can't see a 9-time world champion being content battling for 8th. I have huge respect for Hayden, sticking it out and making good showings on the Duc, but I have to think that even he wonders what he could be doing on an RCV or M1.It will also be interesting to see what Dovi (if the rumors are true) can do on the Desmo. I would love for someone else to come along, be able to ride the damn thing as is, and prove everyone wrong.
cmh_sprint
Update on Spies (Official announcement), interesting move. IMO, it tends to show the Audi has made some commitments to the boys. Ducati will has 3 top tier, riders next season with Iannone cutting his teeth on the big bikes.http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/motor-sport/american-ben-spies-to-join-pramac-team-in-2013/story-fnebo31t-1226473208612
