Pic from the whale trip and St. johns. St. Johns is a great town. They have a 10 block long party street. Right by our hotel. Family friendly party. Restaurants, bars, tons of shops. Great time. I did get a shot of the whale and a crappy video. It was when we were still far away. As we got close I stopped taking any.

Sounds like a great day. We did a whale watching cruise years ago in Lahaina (Maui). Need to do it again 👍

Would that 2004-2007 manual cover the fire blade also

This would be cool to see, we did it in Alaska last year but they only basically tail slap...didn't see one fully breach.

Whale hunting was epic! Two schools of dolphins, and we found mother and calf hump back whales!! Mom did multiple full vertical launches, totally out of the water. She was huge! Tons of tail flips. No pics, too busy living the moment. It was amazing.

Parked for the night in St. John NL. Damn that was a long ass ride. Non stop amazing scenery, fucking moose everywhere. No pics, couldn't do the scenery justice. Tomorrow we hop on a boat early to go whale hunting.

Oh, and no matter what they say, the wireless Internet does not work at sea. It's always broke I was told. And it was a very calm ride. Honestly we probably didn't need to tie the bikes down.

I am assuming you are doing the North Sydney to Aux Port Basque run. Try and get the midnight to 7 am ferry and get a cabin and sleep. If you don't you end up spending the night before nearby, ride the noon to 6 pm and basically drive to another hotel. The night run seems to sell out pretty far in advance so plan ahead. If you are doing North Sydney to St Johns that is 16 hours, so you damn well better get a cabin. We had to take the noon run. Still got a cabin. Well worth it, you can get away from everyone and have at sea sex. Food and whatnot is actually pretty good. There is a bar too. You will be tempted to get there early. Don't bother. Loading won't start until 90 minutes before departure. They want you there 2 hours ahead, so 2 hours and 1 minute is more than enough. Lots of people came well after the 2 hour warning. All in all, it was a very enjoyable time except tying down the bike. Their straps blew dead goats. The ratchets were corroded with salt and you had to fight them. Plus I had to do it twice, old French dude in front of me had no idea what he was doing. There are moose everywhere you look.

If you’re interested in a Givi Maxius 56 ltr topcase, I still have one I used on my vstrom. Mark didn’t want any of the cases when he bought the Strom a few years ago. It’s in great condition. $150 (includes mounting brackets for a 2012 vstrom) If you’re interested, I’ll look for photos (it’s currently stored in my garage attic ) Edit: found a photo

Interested to know your thoughts on the actually fairy ride itself...Supposed to take that exact fairy in September for a Moose hunt in Newfoundland.

Just got tires mounted on the new MT09. Decided to try the new Bridgestone T33 due to their lofty claims. I am seriously impressed with the handling and power delivery. The front suspension is fantastic, and it pulls out of corners like a freight train. I added a Puig Touring Screen and a T-Rex center stand. I'm considering adding a top box, but if I do it would be hard to justify keeping the BMW R1200R and after riding it for 40k I have little interest in parting with it.

This one you could get cheap already has an LS in it. @ 39:48

Ferry ride is done. Parked nearby at our hotel. Canada is weird. Newfoundland has a 30 minute time zone offset. As usual, cagers in the way getting off the ferry.
