  1. My name is Rick. I work with Not_Brian I run a 2011 Mustang GT/CS at the trails quite often, as well as Pacemakers. Photo from Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords http://image.musclemustangfastfords.com/f/34822991/mmfp-1202-08-2011-NMRA-Columbus.jpg I have knowledge on the 2011 5.0, that most people may not, from a I'm in the garage tearing my car apart and putting it back together. I recently started a 93 LX notch back project with my old man. So, to add value to the forum I may be able to suggest or perhaps help someone with question when they start tearing apart their 2011 and newer Mustang ( limited to bolt-on's don't ask about swapping 4 cams lmao). I can also help some with 79-93. I have helped a friend some on his rebuild on his 89 LX notch-back 5.0 as well as working on the 93 LX notch project in my garage. I try to keep some video's posted on YouTube of Drag Racing, Car shows, and anything else I find interesting. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheMustangStampede

  3. You couldn't be more wrong! I have been holding off replying to this thread because the story that I am about to relate, to be honest, is no one else's business. No person on here, in the media, or in the court of public opinion has the right to armchair quarterback the incident if you weren't there. You simply don't know the facts. This story isn't exactly apples to apples, but I think it applies considering your truly ignorant knowledge of the law. I was involved in an incident a handful of years ago in which I, a police officer (white officer), along with 2 other white officers were involved in the death of a man (black man). A man, who in some people's minds, was unarmed. We each took tools from our tool belt (gun belt) and used them on him, and he died after a struggle/fight on the ground in a public place. The run was initially was dispatched as a man assaulting patrons of a bar with a walking cane (he didn't require it to walk). When the first 2 officers arrived, they located the man who wasn't assaulting anyone at that time. The victim of the initial assault didn't have any injuries. Therefore it was considered a misdemeanor assault, and CPD's preferred course of action in "non-on view" misdemeanor assaults (one we didn't witness) is to take a report and refer the victim to the Prosecutor's office for charges. The officers began to approach the man, but he turned and walked away as if he had done nothing wrong. The officers began to follow him, and he walked faster. When they walked faster, he ran. Now, the man who appeared to be crippled on initial appearance, was running like a track star. The officers caught him, and the ground fight was on. About 2 1/2 minutes into the fight, I responded to the officers in trouble call. I arrived and joined the fight for what seemed like 2-3 minutes when in actuality it was about 30-45 seconds. I had my uses of force, and we were able to handcuff him. Within 10 minutes, the man was dead. After his death, the media picked up the story (rightfully so). Thankfully, the main stream media didn't make it out to be the white/black issue that I expected them to. The main stream media was never the issue. The issue was all of the "online media", the people who had no idea what the hell they were talking about, the people who heard and read things online, who wanted to pass their opinion off as fact without really knowing the facts. In one article, the author went as far as to call me a MURDERER, yet they had no facts nor proof to back up their statement. Hell, they never even contacted our department to get the official police version of the incident. All they had was one dead man and 3 alive police officers, but clearly that was enough to pass judgment. I mean, what more do you need?! After about 8 months of accusations from the public and media, I got my day before the Grand Jury with a Special Prosecutor. If you have never testified before a Grand Jury, it is nerve racking to say the least. However, after hearing the evidence, I was found not to be negligent in his death and my actions were 100% justified. I have my opinion on the case, but it is just that...my opinion. And since I wasn't there, and I don't have access to all of the facts (or lack there of) that the police have, I will keep it to myself. Zimmerman should not be automatically charged in this young man's death, he should however, go before the Grand Jury. Then, IF there is enough evidence to support a murder charge (or any charge for that matter), he should be charged. Until that day, the police department did the only think they could and shold have done. He was taken into custody, interviewed, and released until they are able to build a case for a Grand Jury.

  8. This has got to be the dumbest piece of wannabe-deep-thought that I've seen you apply to this argument. I thought your "projects story where I carried heat because I was a dealer and would have totally smoked those fools if my buddy didn't roll up and shoo them away" was pretty dumb, but this wannabe-Plato/Sun Tzu thing you got going on up there, that's maximum derp. Honestly, it's like trying to debate a 13-year-old. You've got such a tenuous grip on the subject matter but you don't even want to understand it completely, opting instead to tell people that are trying to give you constructive retorts and refuting your arguments with valid statements as defined by the laws in this case and the rules of logic (I'm looking at you, Scruit) to fuck off, that you came from the "hood", and you already know everything. Here's another piece of advice you're going to summarily ignore. You know that thing in your hand that you've been using to type out long and barely coherent sentences on OR? That thing also has the ability to do about 5 minutes of research so you can find out some supporting documentation on your position OR, GOD FORBID, you realize that some of what others are saying that are in direct contrast to your position may be RIGHT, and that you may need to reassess your view. (Bad, I'm not looking at you, you're just wrong on every conceivable level). That's the whole fucking point of debating, so that it makes both parties think. Or, you could just keep projectile vomiting your opinion (and those lovely little proverbs, definitely keep those coming) after it's been thoroughly debunked as absolute shit over and over again.

  11. Just a short introduction....I heard about this forum from a member on LS1GTO. In a discussion over potential track rentals Columbus Racing came up. I have an '06 GTO that I take to the track every now and then. The car is strictly a toy. We participated in NHRA Regional and National events back in the early '70s. We worked our butts off and had limited success at that time. (held some records in Modified Production catagory) We are currently living in the Athens, Ga area, so I don't expect to attend many of you local get togethers. I do try to keep up with what is happening around the country, and expect to stop in on a regular basis. If you run short of long BS stories, give me a holler. Jan

  14. He most certainly was looking for trouble. The reason he was out there doing a community watch was because someone was bringing trouble to the neighborhood. He was trying to prevent any further mischief by letting it be know to the cowards that were causing the issues they weren't doing it in a vacuum. I can't imagine people who were in the area were threatened or bothered by someone looking out for their best interests. If the kid took exception to that and decided that he would confront the concerned citizen by acting like a thug then that’s on him. I would expect that a conversation about whom he knew or why he was there would have made things a lot easier for both of them but that's not what happened. It sounds to me like the kid was looking for trouble just as much as the old man because I doubt the kid was shot for politely replying to a concerned citizen in the neighborhood. He was under no obligation to endure an interrogation for merely existing but having a chip on your shoulder, eluding, confronting or attacking someone is not innocent. I don’t know what happened just as much as any of us debating this but if you are surprised by people who are concerned about their neighborhood and feel that confronting them for being concerned is a proper way to handle yourself don’t be surprised if you don’t like the results of your actions.

  15. im not in your shoes, so i cant say how i would react in your position - all i know is how i currently feel, and i currently feel that it is not a good idea to tail every person you see that looks "suspicious" ... does stuff happen? yes. but im gonna go out on a limb and say that more incidents will happen due to you following someone than if you let them be. if im walking down the street and i see some guy watching me and sneaking around following me - theres going to be a problem, even if im not up to no good....ive been held up at gun point at night before and jumped/robbed, and i saw the guys coming....i was under the mind set "nah, wont happen to me"....so i kept on about my business, and sure enough it happened....if i was in that position again, and i see someone following me or "stalking" me, as soon as they attempt to make contact with me, there will be a problem. im all for defending those around you, and defending youself, and im sorry for what happened to your friend and for the feelings of guilt you have about it, but i still believe it to be unwise to start a confrontation with somebody who may or may not be simply walking down the street. if im that worried about a shady individual, i will call the police and let them deal with it. but im not under the mindset that every black person in a hoodie is a thug, so unless i had a reason to think they were up to something (besides simply seeing them walking) i wouldnt even call the police

  16. Honestly if someone introduced themselves as neighborhood watch as I was walking down the street, I would lightly converse and then thank them for taking a moment to talk to me. Furthermore I would thank them for stepping up to take back the neighborhood that has gone to shit in short order. I know how much my property value has gone down since all of the crime came in. I would thank anyone who gets that value back for me.

  22. I really hope the OSUPD is treating this call as seriously as the spray paint on the Hale Center

  23. was working that night and heard the run go out. Our officers responded to assist OSU PD wit a person with a gun call. I believe that the call came is as a man waving a gun around. So, yes they are going to respond, with their guns drawn, detain the suspect, investigate then release him. I work in the hood, and people with guns pass off their guns to other people all of the time. As an officer, I am trained to hide my chosen weapon from time to time. One of the ways we hide them is to cross our arms and tuck which ever weapon we are holding under our arm. They did exactly what they should have done. OSU PD has VERY strict rules on removing their weapon from their holster. They actually had an officer die after being shot while investigating a property crime (didn't meet the criteria for pulling weapon). I guarantee the officers had no idea he was the president of whichever group he was president of until he told them. Just because President Gee doesn't like the group doesn't mean there is some conspiracy against them on the part of the police department.

  25. This should suffice but they may not be trying to build a case as well. The interview, physical evidence, history of those involved could have given them enough to make the determination that what took place while unfortunate resulted in nothing illegal. It astounds me that people can actually think an entire police department can be inept. What shocks me even more is that these same people think they would know better about how to handle the situation than the police without the knowledge of the whole situation. These are not political figures that we can debate philosophical differences. These are people who are trained to do a job with a rule book they understand. You may not like the rules but to think these folks are inept at their jobs is ridiculous especially when you apply that thought to an entire department. Much of this debate is about people’s dislike of the laws that would allow this situation to take place. I think that is a legitimate honest place of which to start the conversation. To blame the police for enforcing the rules that are put forth in front of them is spitting into the wind.

  35. I'm not passing judgement until I get all the facts. However it seems that the general consensus is that you either condemn Zimmerman or you think he's a hero. There is no rooom for the middle ground that clear-thinking people occupy. I don't want him to go to trial "because he might be guilty" or "because Nancy Grace thinks he's guilty". I want him to be treated like every other person who is accused. People are put on trial only when the prosecutor believes there is enough evidence for a conviction. I recognize that I don't have all that info so I will trust what the prosecutor comes up with. But don't put him through a trial just for face saving or public appeasement. If the evidence proves it was self defense then don't put him through a trial - it's not Zimmerman's fault that the media chewed him up like a shoal of pirhanas. BUT If the evidence proves it was murder then charge him. Never should a person be charged purely because of media-fuelled public opinion. To me the most important question is WHEN did the gun come into play. If the gun was out and presented prior to the scuffle then the self-defense angle goes away. If the gun was still concealed when the scuffle started then the whole "using a gun against an unarmed person" doesn't mean much - self-defense could easily become valid if that was his only option he had after being overpowered by Martin.
