  1. I'll preface this by saying I didn't read all of the "pissed at my boss" thread so forgive me if this was covered there. If this job is so important to you why the fuck wouldn't you take a half day of vacation at your primary job to do this training? Additional thoughts after reading your last post, why the fuck is it up to your boss to pull something out of his ass to make this situation work for you? You are responsible for your own earning potential and family responsibilities. Grow the fuck up and act like a man. This is a prime example of what is wrong with people, you need to make it work for me instead of trying to work together. If I was your manager I would have sent your ass packing when you went off the first time. Don't feel bad one bit for you losing a job that you could keep if you really wanted to.

  2. First, I am very pro gun. Second, I don't see the point of open carry. You can argue that there is some very (very) tiny tactical advantage. Whether you admit it or not, OC is an attempt to get attention and generate a reaction. So, why be surprised when you finally get that reaction?? For all the people at Wal Mart that saw you open carry, is it more likely that their reaction was 1) I saw someone exercising their legal right, or 2) Some whack job brought a gun to Wal Mart. The answer is obviously 2, and you knew that before you went in, right? The political statement comment above is apt. For the legal right argument...You also have the legal right to rub poison ivy on your nutsack. That doesn't mean you should do it.

  6. This is the fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives. The liberal approach to an income gap is to tax those at the top and subsidize those at the bottom and if the gap grows, do it again. Repeat as often as necessary. The conservative approach recognizes that although we may have once been the only place suitable for manufacturing and didnt have to compete with other countries for business, times have changed. Other countries have seen that capitalism works and the less restrained it is by socialistic taxes and regulation the better it works. These countries have decided to compete with us. They lowered their corporate tax rates, leaving ours as the highest in the world. They have streamlined their regulation into easy to understand pamphlet size documents. They changed their regulating agencies from something that punishes with a stick to ones that help business comply with a carrot. Some even subsidize wages during startup. Conservatives believe that just like you shop for the cheapest place to buy groceries, businessmen shop for the cheapest, friendliest country to manufacture in and if we want jobs, we have to change what we are doing. They believe that the income gap has grown because the wealthy can always invest anywhere in the world and make money but when our taxes and regulation send business overseas, those jobs and opportunity to advance go over seas also. We are left with no jobs and no tax payers. On a side note. We once had huge labor unions but since the rest of the world has been competing for manufacturing, the unions have been supporting the democrats who in turn insist on keeping high taxes in place, regulation that requires several law firms to figure out and their own high wage and benefit packages. Well the manufacturing is gone and the labor unions (in the private sector) are a shell of what they used to be. Yet they still to this day insist on supporting the democrats who have nearly killed them off. Is it better to hold out till the rest of the world decides to stop competing or is it better to lower our corporate tax rate, streamline our regulation, shift our agencies from the stick to the carrot approach and accept the fact that a slightly lower paying job is better than no job at all? Once you have more jobs than workers, workers value goes up. right now we have way more workers than jobs so people are cheap.......... think about it....

  8. No it's true, I'm just not a careless fuck like you. The knife in my pocket has never cut or stabbed me (it's true). That's not to say I have never cut myself with a knife, just not the one in my pocket. Now please had over your knife till you have taken my "I won't pull my pocket knife out and stab myself class". Costs $75, lasts 8 hours and provides information from how knives are made and what end to hold so you can proficiently use it when a hair splitting emergency arrises.

  9. We don't know each other so don't take this wrong. You can take this stupid fucking idea and shove it up your ass. If you need the government to hold your hand to make decisions go for it but free people should do all they can to keep the government from regulating a constitutional right. Preaching this looney lefty bullshit won't endear you to free thinking people.

  15. Yeah, if you're okay with families not being able to afford food this week cause they have to pay higher taxes on the money they work for... Meanwhile the millionaires and billionaires sit on their yachts burning cigars bought with interest earned on money they inherited from their parents.. I think you're all backwards, we cut taxes on wages earned through work, and raise taxes on earned interest... "Money you work for, you keep, money you get for nothing, gets taxed" just my opinion.

  19. Believe it or not I have heard several children comment "mommy he has a gun" and the response I have heard the mothers tell their children is usually something like "so what", or "that's his right", or "there is nothing wrong with it" The general public are sheelpes and pay little or no attention honestly. The people that make a big deal of seeing someone carrying is the anti-gunners and liberals. My guess is the lady that sold me the ammo was a liberal and didn't like my political T-shirt. Because she was fine while I picked out the ammo, but the problem came when she was looking at my shirt while ringing up the ammo. My guess is she can't keep her political views out of the workplace. Maybe she thought I was some right wing gun toting whack o, because that's what the liberal media makes us 2nd amendment supporters out to be. I don't see how going about my normal routine while open carrying hurts other gun owners I am sorry! I am simply more comfortable carrying OWB! Call it a political statement if you wish, I don't care! If you think that open carry hurts the view of gun owners then change the law I guess. The same scenario here could have happened if I was conceal carrying also, frequently while carrying a child or dealing with the child my gun may partially become visible. I had no problems with the cashier asking me if I had a permit, although I think it is none of her business. I answered her question in a polite educational manner, and even offered to show her my permit. The problem arose when the assistant manger approached me in an aggressive manner, and had a loud aggressive conversation with me. If walmart didn't want open carry then they have the right to post a sign, but walmart follows state law! The assistant manager over stepped her authorit. End of story!

  20. Why is he going to try to steal your wife's jewelry when he could steal your gun instead? You don't think your gun is something a criminal wants? Your making a lot of assumptions when you think that a criminal is going to avoid you just because you've got a gun on your hip. You don't have 360 degrees of vision, something tells me that if a criminal wants your gun he's going to have a go and take it. If you didn't have it open and visible they'd never know you had one. Good luck.

  21. OC is only scary to the public or "attention whoring" because people are not aware of the laws and operate on their base instincts and incomplete understanding of handguns. i support those who exercise their right to OC.

  25. Could not be said better. One person finally said something to you... but there are prolly 20 or more everytime you've done it that went and told family and friends ect about the whack job they saw toting his gun for all to see like a thug. No point in that, none. I am very pro gun and very pro carry, but everytime I see open carry in a store I say what a douche. Especially in your case, full beard and a HD T-shirt. Very stereotypical and I would bet that look is what got you confronted not just that you were carrying. .... is it right that a look has that effect, no. But it happens.

  28. Well, I for one wouldn't be worried at all about someone walking around with a gun in a holster, like stated earlier criminals hide their guns usually tucked in pants,pocket,hoodie..etc... i've been held at gun point before when my friend was robbed and the gun came from a pocket not a holster.

  29. For the record I think it would be retarded to make a licensing system like mentioned above and thought it sounded so ridiculous that no sane person would take it seriously. I think our schooling & testing system for CHL is unnecessary, intrusive, ineffective and should be done away with. I think one is foolish to not be informed of the current laws but being stupid shouldn't be regulated. Your desire to regulate our rights even more than they are now is unfounded based on evidence of other states having no licensing system. Why would you suggest such a thing when it is clear that it isn't needed?
    1 point
  30. Several states do not require "permission" to conceal carry as it should be everywhere. Chaos does not take place in these states. Self-defense is a human right and never should have been regulated in the first place. Being competent is not the government’s responsibility. They can punish you if you cause harm as necessary. I can send this into all kinds of different levels of competency debate that would take this into many tangents so how about a motorcycle one. I say no one should be able to ride a motorcycle on the street until they have earned their expert road racing license. There is no way anyone can know how to handle a motorcycle on the road unless they have reached this level of training. Sorry cruiser, scooter, touring riders you can never reach the level of competent motorcycle riding. I know this is a poor example because riding isn't a protected right but the slippery slope follows the same path.

  31. I find it more comfortable, easier to draw, I believe it does work as a deterrent rather than making me a first target. Most criminals want an easy job, first sign of resistance will make them reconsider. And it helps people get over the stigma that guns are bad. Criminals hide their guns, he's not going to walk with it in plain view.
