Hey everyone! My name is mike I am 21 years old and live in Reynoldsburg. I have been riding my friends motorcycles for almost a year now and passed the MSF course last year in August I believe. Just recently I purchased a 2013 Yamaha R6 in the matte black color and cannot wait for summer. I currently work full time and I am attending Columbus state full time as well. I joined this forum to meet some fellow motorcycle riders and to learn from anyone who is willing to offer advice. So you're OK with a city ordinance that compels you to do something, even though the language of the ordinance has loopholes you can fit small planets through, thereby making it completely irrelevant? How do you enforce something like this? Or was this just a bunch of people wasting time in passing completely worthless and probably unconstitutional legislation? The stated rationale was to "put a security sign on the front of the village". This was because they don't have enough people to have an incorporated police force. Instead of getting a incorporated police force, or at least spending a little coin and equipping some competent and properly vetted volunteers, they go the easy/free route and just mandate that everyone carry a gun. Liability is off the city, they don't have to spend any money, and think they got something done.

The article did say that there were plenty of loopholes for those who don't want to own a gun. My only thing is the timing of this gun prices are way too high and several guns are hard to find new. I've quit asking about certain guns at gun shops because its always the same answer "we have no clue when we will get any of those in. Our waiting list is soo long for that gun that we quit taking names."

The real issue is that he is 40 years old and has bank. How much angst and issues can you rap about at that age when you have matured and have bank? This is yearly odds ratio, IP(and yourself earlier) is/are using stats which cite lifetime odds. You need some fancier math to be able to directly compare them. An extremely oversimplified analysis would be to say that if the average person in the county lives to be 80, and the yearly homicide rate is 1/100,000, then the lifetime odds are 80 * (1/100000) which is 1 in 1250. This is not an actual lifetime odds analysis, but shows that yearly odds are vastly different than lifetime odds, and you cannot compare them directly in a meaningful way.
