  1. I ran into this older guy parked in the road blocking traffic. As I drove around he, exited his car and began trying to push it. So I quickly turned around parked, and went to help him. I shared the story with my wife, and she was like OMG. and pulled up a missing person report, and started to read it to me. When I described car, and man. She called authorities and reported his location. So He is now safe and at home! Link to story... http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2014/01/15/upper-arlington-missing-85-year-old-man.html

  2. Day 7 smoke free for me. I did invest in a new vape to ease cravings, and it does just that. Haven't missed cigs at all the last 5 days, but the first couple were a challenge trying to program my head around relying solely on the vape. Feeling better everyday too

  4. If people who care about guns can't even figure out the local law day to day....how should a non-carrying citizen be able to keep up? Who is in the wrong here? The "concerned citizen" for not knowing the flavor of the month law? The dispatchers for not knowing the entire story? The school for taking the information at face value, and protecting the kids with a lockdown? It's a no win situation, after that first 911 call is placed. This will NOT stop happening until the majority of the population and police departments are better EDUCATED!

  5. Since you are advertising your shop and want to improve its' name maybe you should think about becoming a sponsor on OR instead of just throwing it out there. There are plenty of other shops that are sponsors on OR. OR members tend to support those that have paid to advertise here. Corrected grammar and spelling errors made during a hastely written initial post.

  6. If you want to 'fight for the front,' do it by becoming a better rider. On a group ride...faster, smoother riders are waved to the front or asked to lead.

  7. Is that rate taken by the percentage of the population vs number of crimes committed though? Surely the U.S. is more populated now in comparison to almost 80 yrs ago, which would drive the rate down while allowing the number of crimes to inflate. But I get what you're saying, rate vs rate is still relavent

  10. I've been vaping for 3 weeks. I like it only 3-4 cigs in that time. Costs me 12.50 for a "carton" and each cartridge lasts me 4-5. My lungs feel so much better

  11. My father in law was largely responsible for shutting down organized crime. Funny that a white person does not dare enter the area where the organized crime was. Organized crime kept the rift raff away. Street justice is a bitch but the gubberment couldn't stand the fact there was competition in keeping city streets safe.Ps. Privatize every single police department

  15. I stayed out of this thread because I quit around the same time as the OP, beginning of Dec. I didn't want to steal his thunder, he deserves his own thread full of kudo's. But now that you bring up vaping I have to speak up. That is exactly what got me off the f'ing things. I only vap in the morning, after dinner and just before bed and then just a few puffs. I am totally free, no nerves, I don't want to kill anyone (except Magley) and I feel great.

  24. Again, I'd generally believe Parks, who aside from his personal interest in firearms also has a responsibility as part of his employment to understand the law... If the language says "in a vehicle" and you get out of the vehicle, you're no longer "in a vehicle" this is why lawyers are paid so well, interpretation of the law can get complicated...
    1 point
  25. This isn't true, although it seems a lot of people believe it to be. The law doesn't state that you can't exit your vehicle. It states you must be in the process of dropping off or picking up your child and you can't enter the building. Part of me dropping off my child may very well be opening the trunk, exiting the car and handing my child his backpack.

  27. I am in no matter the date, but spring is preffered! I swept the second medium/fast group, and all was well(we were second group to leave)...I would lead/sweep again this year too.

  28. I would make the sugesstion to have to groups with 10 or less. Our medium fast group didn't really have too many problems last year. I think we started with 8, and ended with 12. But some of the groups were just too damn big. Aaaaannndd making some fucking signs about what group start where and when. :-) annnnd a bullhorn.

  30. It is done correctly, murders per 100,000 people. Anything other than that would have been very Magleylike of me. It's actually quite amazing how low the murder rate is now compared to the 60's and 70's.

  31. Alright. I made a poll for the season. It's Multiple choice. From there, we can narrow down a date. So the poll will get changed, after a season is selected. From there we can plan a meetup. I also changed tha title so we can plan everything here.

  32. Wear slacks and a tie, and people assume you're a detective. It's shocking how often people assume you're authorized to do (insert whatever action here) when you act like you're allowed. At the Cuyahoga County Justice Center, there are signs on every floor that say "please check in with the deputy, take a seat, and wait to be called - authorized persons ONLY allowed beyond this point." I'll tell you right now, if you're wearing a suit, no one is going to blink when you walk past that sign. When I was clerking there, I actually asked a deputy to un-lock the door back to the judges' chambers for me. He never once questioned whether or not I was actually supposed to be going back there - just told me to cut through courtroom, because it would take less time than him finding his key. And this was a 23-floor building with 4 judges per floor (from 12 up anyway), so it's not like this deputy recognized me. I wasn't on that particular floor nearly often enough.

  33. The judicial system does manage to convict an innocent person now and then, and nothing can be done that would make this process completely failsafe so long as people are involved.....the old 'to error is to be human' idea. It's inevitable, and truly unfortunate for all involved with false convictions. As long as the judge/jury can have their opinions swayed, this will continue to happen. All they can do is their best to keep facts on an even keel during the decisions and always entertain the possibilities of both sides to be as fair as possible. But, in my opinion....we never should've strayed from public hangings, canings, stockades, guillotines, etc for select criminals. Desensitizing the population to the what-ifs of committing crimes has surely not helped reduce the crime rates, and games/movies today are far more graphic than actuality, ergo there's no point in hiding it......so I say reinstate those old tactics to see if it helps to bring back a more civilized civilization ( meaning reduced crime since killing isn't exactly civil ).

  34. Wow for 23 I'm impressed. Let me give you a little nugget though. Everything you want and state you are looking for can all be done without a club. When I started riding I had zero friends who rode. Almost 5 years of being a forum member and I bet I have at least 30 friends I met through this forum. You don't need no stinkin club! Also, ride with the right guys and your skill level will develop 10 fold Lastly, "fighting for the front" for any group ride is about the worst idea ever and will surely result in some serious wrecks. So in the interest of fellow motorcyclist safety, please rethink that

  37. I didn't know you were allowed to post on here if you don't own a bike So many it'll make your head spin! But seriously, no. Lol No harm, no foul. Please refer to my post on another thread: "I can understand that the MC concept may not be as appealing to others as I and had been expecting some ridicule... but hey, this wouldn't be a forum without it lol, let alone be the Internet I've got thick enough skin and plan to endure. I'm just looking to make friends, participate in said gatherings and lie-telling... and not just in the club but in OR as well.!I'm 23 and have no friends that ride... Just looking for a good time, to talk motorcycles, shop and women, in no particular order. Coming from a very tight knit group of 13 friends that all seem to be drifting different directions in life, I kind of miss that comradery and hope to achieve something similar with this MC. If you're looking for the same, let's get rowdy! If not, that's cool too (yawn)." Note that you sound like a grumpy old man in your posts...additionally, this will be a sportbike club. No formations, you fight for the front. If you are truly interested in the opportunity, please PM me.

  40. Public Firing squad where average citizens can bid to be a part of the firing squad. They could use that money to recoup some of our tax dollars spent housing him for however long he's been in.

  41. This isn't that kind of place dude...plenty of guys have come in here trying to recruit for one MC or another, they all vanish after being ridiculed and laughed at. I know I know, your club is different, and we'll all have a wonderful time and hold hands and sing songs and do $1.85 on the freeway standing on the seat flapping our arms and throwing 'bows....but no....we aren't club people...we abhor the posturing, politics and general idea of clubs. We ride. Sometimes alone, sometimes in groups but we don't dress up in colors and patches and go from bar to bar in formation. Not trying to be a dick, I'm sure eventually someone else will tho.

  43. Good Stuff. Caryn rides herself but tends to ride on the back more often than not. Pretty sure its due to the fact that I ride a bit (cough) fast and its not really fair to leave her in the dust when hitting the twisties. We do go out together, however. I want to get her into a track class. She's way more than capable to ride at a much higher level with practice, she just doesn't know it.
