Okay so I am shooting to not make this "suck" so my noob ass can get some access to the rest of the forum! Let's start by why I am here. Clay and Carl are two of many guys I met at the Columbus Cars and Coffee event last Saturday and they told me to get on here to feed my car crazy. So as a result, I'm here to hang out with all you people and make new friends that are just as bonkers for anything with an engine and wheels as I am! Who I am. I am a 29 y/o guy who won the wife jackpot (she enables my auto addiction) with 2 furry four legged kids and no real babies because the wife refuses to remove the goalie... Yes I want children so I can transfer my car crazy to them as my father did for me! I don't street race because I love my almost non existing insurance premium. The car collection- between my father and I we have some interesting stuff. Last Saturday I brought our 1992 Olds Achieva SCX with 22k original miles to Columbus Cars and Coffee at Lennox. This weekend look for me in my 1986 Pontiac Fiero 2m4 daily driver (red). The rest of the list is as follows 69 Hurst/Olds, 70 442 W30, 1984 Cutlass t-top car, 1986 Ford F350 Dually (Edna), 1988 Oldsmobile Calais Quad4, 1993 Achieva SCX, 1995 oldsmobile cutlass convt, 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Eco 6speed manual. Now if you see me in person out and about at car events please come say hi and talk my ear off about cars! I am a people person and love chatting it up about anything fast and loud!! I am a bit wild and crazy and not always politically correct because where is the fun in that??!?! So let's light this campfire, open a few beers and see how long it takes for shit to get weird!! I love Bacon! Bye TheMrWes!3 points

I had a great weekend of riding. I didn't take ANY pictures. Route 7 in KY heading south was all mine. Very little local traffic and tree tunnels for miles and miles. if you like riding in the summer in shade and cool air RT 7 is the road for you. It was in good shape, it had two hair pins turns that allowed you to see the tail end of your own bike, they were that tight and up hill. Spent the first night in Bristol in a motel, all the state parks were full. In the morning I ran The Snake to Mountian City and had biscuits and gravy at the store, picked up a new t-shirt. Headed West to little switzerland to run that loop and got a new t-shirt. Road was brand NEW I think I was the third person on it. Then off to Maggie Valley for the WTT stop. Paid my 10 bucks to get in and looked around and get my new t-shirt. Very cool place (needed more BMWs) and just as I was walking out, none other then the man himself came riding in the front doors on a peddle start Harley. Looking like he just finished working on a bike. Then headed off for Deal's Gap spent two nights riding around, reading and meeting new folks around the fire. PS If you have not checked camping gear, do So BEFORE you leave. Open up everything.3 points

Oh, I live cooking. I'm also huge into baking fancy cakes and stuff. But it's more caloric than riding that's for sure. Some examples:3 points

You might be on to something...between you, me & snot we'd have it covered. Maybe I just bought the wrong color bike and should have found something that coordinates with pink... Lol2 points

It would also be nice if they would stop making everything pink. I like pink but don't want to look like a bottle of Pepto when I go riding. I have a hard time finding regular pants, let alone riding pants that won't be capri's on me. I want to make a trip to the Pony to check out pants but most likely they will be in the mens section...2 points

We've donated $250 to support the Warrior Dog Foundation and now you can help too! The Warrior Dog Foundation is dedicated to serving the special operations community, families, and Special Operation Forces working with K-9 military dogs. The K-9s employed with these forces are of the top tier in the working-dog world. They are expected to work in the most austere of environments and face conditions that most human beings cannot survive. These are the environments in which these elite warriors operate. The K-9 units are vital in ensuring the success of every mission and operate in all conditions. The Warrior Dog Foundation helps to transition dogs from an operational environment into a state-of-the-art kennel facility. They strive to educate the public on the importance of K-9s in the combat environment, and showcase the level of sacrifice these dogs give in support of our troops. They care for each individual SOF K-9 with dignity and grace, including both mental and physical rehabilitation for the rest of their lives. Pictured is the Triple Crown on the left, and Twist of Fate 3.0 on the right. From now until June 7th, with the purchase of any Speed and Strength suit from Riders Discount, we will donate an additional $25 to the Warrior Dog Foundation for each suit sold. This includes the Twist of Fate 3.0, Triple Crown, and Strip Search Drag Suit. In addition, this will enter you to win the Speed and Strength Dogs of War helmet. Tinted shield sold separately. To order, simply visit the Riders Discount webpage, give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804, or send him a message through this forum. Is email more convenient? Write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away!1 point

Hey there.... Any way to make it harder to give neg rep on the mobile? I just gave a new member neg rep by accidentally hitting the "x" when thumbing down. Maybe a "are you sure you want to give neg rep?" Or require a reason.... I don't care much about rep personally, but neg rep is fightin words.1 point

I just remembered......went on fall picnic ride with some friends and I wrapped the fried chicken and baked beans in my heated gear to keep it warm. Good times.1 point

That was my second pos 240Sx, it was mostly stock. Had a Cold air intake, 3 inch cat back and cut springs up front. This picture was from after I spun the 4th rod bearing and removed the engine, it was because the KA24DE's upper timing chain guide that as per Nissan should be removed, at the time I didn't know this and it broke off and fell into the back side of the lower timing chain cover/oil pump and my 4th rod bearing spun... when I drained the oil before removing the engine it was all coppery colored and was full of metal flakes lol. I sold this shell for $500 before moving up here from Florida.1 point

I think that expecting a local vendor to match every online price is too much to ask, especially if the online price is lower than the local vendor can buy it for. Remember that IP has showroom and employee overhead that places like Comp Acc don't - the latter being a warehouse-centric volume shop that can buy large volumes to loss-lead on specific items and make it up on bundled ones (like enticing you with free shipping above a certain amount). Being able to try stuff on, talk with a knowledgeable salesperson and then take your goodies home the same-day is pretty cool. I've bought some specific items from Comp Acc, Riders Discount, etc. but I'd hate to go through ordering stuff, waiting, trying it on, returning it, waiting, trying a second size and not being totally happy or returning it a second time, waiting...1 point

I make my boy scrape the deck after every mow and told him if he tears it up goofing around, there is a shiny new push mower in the shed with his name on it. Don't think he wants to push mow 2.2 acres.1 point

My thoughts exactly. I just roll my eyes. I have been reading a book by Nick Ienatsch called "Sport Riding Techniques" in my free time. Really good and insightful. I've been using some of the suggestions and it is making a difference. No matter how bad-ass one thinks they are, it always helps returning to basics every once in awhile to make sure that the foundation is strong.1 point

At least you're not afraid to ask questions. That's generally where people (not gender specific) get themselves in trouble.1 point

Thanks for the pass along! Sorry I slacked it for creating the ad, meant to do it before the weekend. =/1 point

Looks delicious! Stews are easy in a croc pot: Salsa from my garden: Mussel soup with sea scallops is more involved, but really, really yummy:1 point

I don't care if it's nuanced or not, like every president making big adjustments to their foreign policy once they know the real deal about global politics with executive clearance, I'm fucking sick of our boys and girls getting killed for questionable gain, based on "American exceptionalism" ethics that don't hold water(boarding) under examination.1 point

Every day of my life too. I agree, its ok enough when someone just makes assumptions unless they're trying to screw me over. I've embarrassed a few mechanics who have tried to trick me into expensive repairs that I didn't need. oh, traditional gender roles, lol. I'm gonna go do the laundry now.1 point

At 20k i think it wouldn't need adjusted but when they need adjusted, they normally tighten up instead of getting lose. Yamaha998 forum is kind of meh. Fz1oa is the one to go for. Ravenrider on fz1oa is who I would talk with. He's rebuilt many of fz1 engines, and knows the bike inside and out.1 point

You can also report them to the state. They seem to drop a pretty big hammer on the locals. I was fighting parma on one getting no where. Filed the complaint and parma ripped it up and fixed it in about two weeks after my email to the state. http://www.dot.state.oh.us/divisions/operations/traffic/Pages/OTEHomePage.aspx1 point

It's a metal detector under the pavement. Get a few large neodymium magnets and stick them to your exhaust, should produce a large enough magnetic field to trip the sensors.1 point

New to the forum here, but not new to riding Ohio, KY, TN, NC or the other 45 states. I did the math I have not rode on an Island..yet. Heading out May 23 for 5 days. Hitting the main roads like Back of the dragon, Diamondback loop, The snake AND Deal's Gap. I'll be camping and taking back roads all the way there. I ride a 1995 BMW R1100RS. I have been riding for about 35 years now. Anyone else head that way?? I know you folks just had the trip down to Deal's Gap, but maybe some of you didn't get to make it. I'm not a speedster, but do enjoy a good rode. No goofy stuff for this guy.0 points

Well here's my introduction post. I guess I'll try and keep it brief. Names John, I'm 27 and born and raised in Florida. I've lived in Columbus/Westerville for about 4 1/2 years. I'm in the process of attempting to build a S13 240sx the right way, second time trying this. I've owned 3 240's all 3 had the KA24DE, my last one was turbo'd. They all had their problems and we're someone elses failed project. whatever... So how I found out about CR... I was getting some tires taken off at a Monroe local to me, one of the guys at the shop who helped me out told me about this site. Pretty much how it was brought up was because one of his dudes Dodge Stealth R/T TT was parked at the shop and thats how we got on the topic of cars and he asked if I was on this site... I pretty much joined to scope out the market place section. I'm a member on Zilvia.net and KA-T.org pretty much just for the market place sections in the forum, besides that I don't start trouble nor do I care about any drama.0 points
