Bicycle shorts under mesh overpants and a dry fit shirt under a mesh motorcycle jacket is actually cooler than you would think. As stated above, it keeps the sun off of you, but it allows the wind through the suit. Remember: Dress for the crash, not for the ride.1 point

Oh come on. If that was two Harleys you guys would have given HomeSlice massive plus rep for it. It was a great joke and well played.1 point

By reminding myself that when shit happens, I'll have skin left and a better chance to live through it1 point

Idealy, full gear consists of helmet, jacket, gloves, pants, boots. Just subtract gear from anywhere you don't care about having skin left after an accident!1 point

The CRF250L is much cheaper than the WR250R, which is the bike most similar. The CRF is also shorter and ergonomically smaller. Good if you are short, but feels cramped to me. General consensus is that the CRF is similar to the WR in power but far behind in suspension and off-road handling. I wouldn't mind one, especially for roads, gravel and light trail work, but would prefer the WR for larger feel and off road capability. I would think the XR650L would be a very different machine. Considerably heavier, taller and much more low end grunt. That is definitely a much bigger bike than the CRF in every measure. Craig1 point

Maybe, the gender bias is usually so strong I think it would surpass the good ole' boy network mentality. I wouldn't unless I witnessed something. To bypass your good Ole boy concern You could just call anonymously and talk to someone at a victims assistance program. Those ladies will be on it like flies on poop.1 point

The only thing I notice is the Duc. I was one of the guys that helped build that bike for him.1 point

If there's an investigation, she will be questioned, and then she can decide whether or not she wants to be truthful, or lie to the police. I would make that her call though.1 point

I paid $1,450 for my 2003 Ninja 500 in near-mint condition. Just under 9,000 miles It's not the nice blue color I would've first-picked, but it's a nice neutral dark blue/gray. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it...1 point

I would report it. There's a lot of scenarios that could be playing out, but it's always best to err on the side of caution. I think worst-case scenario (for you) is that your neighbor knows you called the cops on them, and gets pissed off. I say man-up and risk that. If the wife/kid denies that any DV is going on, and you know better, then I'd start claiming you're alarmed or annoyed by the noise (which is getting toward disorderly conduct). The police aren't dummies (mostly) and they will see through a BS story if wifey is crying, but claims nothing happened. If they observe injuries, most departments mandate an arrest. It may get dismissed before going to a trial, but having the arrest on record is helpful. I know I look at DV cases a lot differently when the alleged perp has prior accusations. If there are prior DV (or assault) convictions, subsequent offenses become felonies. Call the cops and tell them what you KNOW, and what you are HEARING. If that's limited to unexplained injuries on the victim, then that's all you report. You can express concerns about what you think might be happening, but avoid speculating. And be prepared to become a witness if you hear a threat or a smack or an object being thrown. It sucks to be dragged into domestic disputes, but think how the victim feels... living with a person who has physically harmed you is torture far worse than missing work for a day to testify. /$.021 point

Doesn't sound like there's much you can or should do, knowing that you're not close to the couple and not certain anyway. The world is a sad place sometimes.1 point

BTW the new classed offered are Fundamentals of Home Defense and Fundamentals of Concealed Carry.1 point

This is a very different methodology than a lot of people have thought about. We incorporate what the body does naturally and work it into our defensive training. We are looking to set dates in august for the advanced class. We are giving a taste of it in the shooting portion of our CHL class. This is why our class has become so popular and kept us so busy. MC we have a CHL class near Columbus July 26th. You can message me for more details if you want.1 point

Interesting. Please, explain to the group what exactly in this thread "does it" for you.1 point

Your looking into the wrong classes then, the one I did many years ago treated everyone like they had never laid eyes on a firearm before. And that is what it's supposed to be like (basics), a bit too much of back to basics for some but necessary.1 point

Woohoo! Two hot nurses pulled the ureter stint out of me thru my weiner, while I yelled mother f*cker loud enough for my daughters to hear in the waiting room. Good news is, I took the most enjoyable urination I've had in months. No crazy burning at the end or the beginning, or the middle. Done with that crap...I'm back in business... Knock on wood. Drink lots of water my friends and never opt for a stint with a string connected to it hanging out your weiner. Go no string.1 point

Fair enough, you gotta ride your own ride. But I reject the idea that riding a 600 just means I haven't "moved up" yet and I will someday. I'm faster on my cbr600 that I was on my R1 in most places but a straightaway.1 point

Nope! Time for the answer: I park in a surface lot in downtown Cleveland with several hundred cars. Bikes park up front. It's a good thing everyone who walked by was probably looking at the Ducati instead of my bike... Because I left my key in the ignition all day long for 8+ hours Visible in pic! It was my first time riding to work, and I just didn't really have a system or routine of habits yet for everything. Anyone else ever done that?-1 points
