  1. Another year of MotoGP at Indianapolis is on the books, and it was a great weekend of racing. I also ran into Dgasser and his wife - was awesome to see you guys! The new track surface and corner modifications were really well received by the riders, and you could tell by watching them that they were more relaxed, and were enjoying riding much more than in previous years. As a result, lap times were down and the racing was great in all 3 classes. The other bonus is I felt like the corner changes made for some better photographic angles, so I moved through most of my usual spots and was pretty happy with the results. It's been interesting watching Rossi's style evolve this year. He's really getting off the bike more than he did previously: Colin had some great special leathers for the Indy race: Trying something different with Dani: Loved the intensity of Cal's look: Indy skyline courtesy of Mr. Marquez: Lorenzo looked much better than in past years: Not a good day in qualifying for Bradley Smith. Fortunately he was not injured: Downtown was great as usual, and getting bigger every year. There were so many Groms running around that I now desperately want one. Really sad to see Colin go, but I'm glad that he's able to leave a very successful career and spend time with his family: Basically superman: I'm still working through the majority of the shots, but the rest will be here

  2. No hard feelings here, I just calls em like I sees em....it does make more sense now knowing butters is a dirty drug addict...so I guess I can't blame him, it's just the disease talking.

  3. My post to new guy came after receiving a bullshit "tax adjustment" bill from fucking Pataskala, followed by 2 huge bong bowls... I was an unstable mess of hatred and happiness... Shit happens on OR

  5. I like butters just fine, and he's a good sparring partner that can take a solid punch once in a while and not take his gloves and go home..... Jinu, my facial hair changes with the seasons so maybe we actually do have the same facial hair at one time or another. That's bullshit, I never use my teeth. I take em out first

  7. Great Photography!!! You do good work. Thanks for sharing as usual. I really want to go out there to catch a GP race. It looked like there were a lot of seats not filled from TV angles. Of course the power outage took about 10 laps away from the TV coverage and the audio never came back after that either.

  9. I think we all agree that the looting of stores is idiotic, at best. But I'd disagree that the looting is a bigger issue than what appears to be ...if the reports are true...that this kid was basically executed, no matter what he did prior. If he gave himself up and the cop followed him, stood over him and emptied his pistol into his back...then yeah. That's a bigger problem.

  10. I'm looking for a developer. First off, this isn't a paycheck earning gig. Still here? Sweet. It would be a profit sharing gig. Specifics are negotiable. I need someone good. Really good. I have an idea for a product. I have potential customers. I have the infrastructure architected. I just can't program to save my life. I'm leaning towards Java or Ruby, but am open. Consider this the poorest of startups to ever exist. No outside funding. Not yet anyways. Hours would be whenever you have time, but I do need someone dedicated. If it goes anywhere, I promise we'll have a kegerator in the office. Interested? PM me.

  11. Selfish is really not a good word for it. From the suicidal person's point of view, they often see it as selfless. They often feel like they are such a burden and such a drain on the people around them, they see their death a lifting the burden from the ones they love.

  13. I'll bet that there are plenty on this forum that have been affected by the suicide of a friend or family member. It's easy to take offense when words like "selfish" or "cowardly" are being tossed around when you can remember a loved one a similar situation. Like I said earlier, you really can't generalize about something so complex. Every situation is different. As far as RW...I feel for his friends/family, but I can't get too upset over a celebrity death It only really affects us by increasing public awareness.

  16. Like Brian said, those of us with families and ride motorcycles, are we selfish? To recieve some kind of euphoric gratification for what, 2 hours once a week? Smokers, yep you're selfish, especially when you have kids because your kids go to school and smell like smoke. Remember less than half the population smokes now, and plus you're gonna die 15 years sooner. Just think of all those selfish activites we do because one day your little girl isn't going to have a dad to walk her down the aisle when she gets married. Ya imo suicide is the pussy way out, but it really doesn't matter because we all die and I fully support any legislation for assisted suicide.

  19. Is alcoholism a disease or a selfish act? Is drug addiction a disease or a selfish act? Is smoking cigarettes a disease or a selfish act? All instances are Choices an individual makes and can all ultimately lead to an untimely death. So start chastising those who die of these issues for being "selfish and cowardly" and see where that gets you. Everyone thinks they understand why someone would do such a thing but 90% of people truly don't have the slightest clue and never will

  20. If someone wants to die, they should be able to do so. People need to learn to make peace with the god they worship and get over it if someone they know kills themself. Chances are if you claim to be close to someone who kills themself chancee are you should have recognozed the warning signs. Remember christian god forgives all sins. Jewish god only rewards you here on earth and muslim god flips a coin when you die, but chamces are all that happens is we rot in the ground. People meed to stop lookint for answers and move on. If you were really concerned about suicide youd wcall you congressman and tell him to do something about big pharma pushing suicide pills err anti depressents

  21. I'm not going to argue with your point of view. But that statement is also a generalization. A suicide that I was reasonably close to was out of fear of ending a bad marriage and starting a new life for them self. Is that a scary proposition? Yep. But sometimes life is scary. There was certainly sadness from being in a bad marriage, but nothing I would call clinical depression or mental illness. There are different reasons, circumstances, and types: https://www.trinity.edu/mkearl/death-su.html egoistic: perhaps the most prevalent form in the United States, is the result of too little social integration, such as the suicide of a retired elderly widower;altruistic: the consequence of excessive integration, such as deaths of a Japanese kamikaze pilot during World War II or the self-sacrifice of an Indian suttee, where a widow throws herself upon her husband's funeral pyre;anomic: results from too little regulation or the shattering of one ties with society, such as with divorce or unemployment;fatalistic: this form is the result of excessive regulation coupled with high personal needs to control one's environment, as when a highly motivated college student takes his own life upon failing a critical exam.

  22. Based on what? Have you ridden one? Best bike I've ever owned. I had a choice between a leftover 13 z1k and a 12 cb and after sitting on them, the cb won hands down.. Nimble, tons of power and torque, sure it won't do 180 but it'll keep up with supersports with 50 more hp from 0-100... What makes it a "bust"? Because it has less hp than the others? I'd be surprised if very many people here could even use the power it has to full potential. Shit, it wheelies in 1-3 wot. Stock suspension is fully adjustable and adequate for my big ass, at least as much as factory suspension can be. Brakes are adequate enough to lock up when you want to... I honestly can't think of one thing the gixxer does better, besides going in a straight line.. Can't be styling, the gixxer is pretty much an identical clone to my bike except no single sided swing arm... Just very curious why you think it's a bust.. We obviously all have our own opinions, not attacking you or anything, just puzzled

  23. Suicide is selfish, IMO. When give. A choice, my family would always choose more time with me and often I've gone there and turned back out of consideration for my loved ones. Cowardly though, I'm not sure. When you've battled demons all your life and choose not to anymore it's not always out of fear or lack of strength to go on. When older people commit suicide I see it more as a desire to control ones own destiny rather than be at the mercy of it, which I have a great deal of respect for.

  25. If that's how you feel then fine it is your right. But what about those times you aren't at fault but the officer thinks your were, or is doing it because he wants to give you a hard time? do you still think it is fair to pay it then? Also if the court system is giving reductions in fine and sentencing if you just sign up to fight it and everybody gets that but you, do you still think its fair that other at fault people get to pay less than you or don't get to take points but you do? Just because a cop says you did something isn't a decree of guilt, it is an accusation he has to prove through a system. If you did it and there is evidence to support it fine, the system will find you guilty and you'll be no worse off if you paid it. Remember a cop doesn't have to actually measure you speeding, he just has to guess that you are to write the ticket. If he is using speed measuring equipment then he is gathering evidence, if he is just guessing than he is permissibly giving you a hard time.

  26. I've been down plenty, on the track and on the street. All were a result of my pushing the limits of the situation or not adaquately reading the situation and adjusting for it. Most were lowsides, and I don't try and save the bike in those situations. If it's gone I let it go because its just money and major injuries aren't worth getting tossed trying to save it. I've had two highsides, one slower speed caused by morons in the riding group and one because I got cut off on the freeway and the guy slapped his brakes. I think one of the most important things is to get back on a bike quickly. The longer you wait the more time the fear will set in and be an obstacle for you. However, if you hop back in the saddle while still focused on the fear of making the same mistake you likely will make the same mistake or another because you are not comfortable and focused on errors rather than riding. So it is a two-headed coin, and you shouldn't try and go full bore right away again. All of my accidents were avoidable IMO and I think learned something from each of them. I accept that riding may involve crashing.I accept that others may hit me or cause me to crash and that is out of my control. I can mitigate a lot but the danger is still out there.I wear all my gear every time. I've crash tested most of it and I have confidence in it's damage mitigation abilities.I ride with a large safety bubble and always have my head on a swivel. My focus is always on riding and what is around me. I never ride with music.I avoid riding with people I don't know. If I can't avoid it I try and ride trail.I respect the warm up time of cold tires and the limitations of cold weather riding.I can't take roundabouts at race pace. Kneedragging on the street is bad.I always expect and plan for people to do the worst in every situation.Whenever someone new starts riding I drag them to the MSF course. If nothing else it is a good refresher for me and keeps them alive longer.I minimize stupid things on public roads. No endangering others for the sake of my fun.

  27. You should watch FX's The Americans. It's a pretty badass show, and right up your alley. You're 3 episodes in from the pilot, I'd highly recommend starting at the beginning.

  29. ANyone who buys this site unseen is either a fool, or a fool with money to burn. Beta test? Yeah, how about 'marketing ploy'? No reviews about the helmet from ANY of the supposed beta testers. And after the "beta" is up, they announce pre orders starting 6 days later. A WHOLE SIX DAYS. Annnnnd the product isn't going to be delivered until almost a year later? Ummm, no thanks. Cool tech..great idea...but I'm not buying it for one minute that there was a proper beta in place. I'll enjoy my Boxer v8, please and thank you.

  30. The cop isn't going to take ownership of his actions if he is wrong, he's still going to write the ticket and get you to pay it. If he is wrong and you are wrong why should you be the only one who pays and he doesn't? Seem fair to you? Work with your sense of morals? More importantly, what if you just don't agree with the fine amount. It's your right to challenge and get a plea deal. Or more importantly what if you don't have the money and you need a payment plan or an extension of time to do it, same process. This isn't a question about taking responsibility so much as it is about making fully informed decisions to get the most beneficial outcome for your situation. Sounds like a lot of you just don't know how things work or are just so pro-law enforcement that police can do no wrong but civilians can.
