  1. Ive lost 30 lbs since Feb 15th. It's going to be more of a life style change than a diet this time. My wife who has always battled her weight and things just don't work for her(even a personal trainer told her that her goals were unobtainable giving her family history and genetics) has decided to opt for weight loss surgery. So with that her life style and what she can eat will greatly change. So she (we) decided why wait till she has the surgery, lets start now. And since she has to change everything I might as well too. My short term goal is to lose 50 lbs by the middle of May but not sure if ill get that low by then ill just keep on trucking along. Now when vacations and bike trips come I'm still going to enjoy myself and eat what I want but still cut back a little, kind of like a reward for all the work I put in.

  3. Just noticed this thread, so I figured I’d chime in . . . Late September 2015 (51st b-day), passing by a large mirror, noticed I was more jiggly and rounded than I cared to be. Per the scale, I was up to 204lbs. I set a 3 month goal of losing 14lbs, targeting 190lbs by year end. 6 mornings per week, I did 20 minutes of cardio (treadmill or elliptical) and 5 of those morning, also did 20 minutes of weight lifting (different muscle group each day). This, along with a sensible food choices, I still missed my year end goal by 5lbs. (I partially blame having 2 food-centric holidays in 4th quarter). So I increased the time slots up to 30 minutes each and set a 1st qtr 2016 goal of 185lbs. Happy to say I clocked in yesterday at 184lbs. I really don’t have more time to dedicate to working out (because I don’t want to wake up any earlier), so rather than increase overall time working out, I’m stealing 10 minutes from weight lifting and adding it to cardio time. It works for me because I really, I don’t want to build a lot of muscle. I would rather just tone up what I already have in the course of losing weight. I should include that I've dropped from 36w pants to 34w, and am back to wearing 'Large' shirts vs XL. The next goal to hit, by end of 2nd qtr 2016 is, 175lbs. There’s no reason I shouldn’t reach that mark, because when I got married 23 years ago, that’s about what I weighed (and was 15lbs less than that when I moved to Ohio in '90). A additional, but lesser goal for this summer, is to run an under 30 minute 5k. I’d like to try running a 10k, but I doubt my right knee will cooperate.

  5. I come here to be the voice of reason and tranquility only to find so many changes that I'm not sure if I'm able to process them all. Apparently new standards are in place for moderator qualifications and just any old shit stirrer can meet them. Plus it appears that the site has turned into a gay bicyclist club. Does anyone know of a good motorcycle riding forum?

  6. Print for what's ordered, wait, print more for subsequent orders. Not hard. Even motorcycle super store can do it.

  8. With sincere apologies to those who adeptly ride H-Ds or cruisers...yes, I realize this is stereotyping, but there is a certain contingent of riders who perpetuate this image. Mea culpa.... Just saw this on ADVR. Has all the makings for a catastrophe of epic proportions. I'm guessing they'll also set the record for the most number of wrecks and Medivac flights on the same day!!! My advice? Get there early and bring a lawn chair. Make sure you're sitting on the inside of the curve... 11. Starting week 7 of my lifting plan and going strong. Had to postpone leg day earlier this week till today due my knee acting up. My weight has pretty much stopped dropping at 260-65lb but I have been able to lift more and I am slimming down. Even had a random person at one of my accounts notice and that made my day for someone who didn't know about my working out to notice a difference. Going to see if I am able to break the 200lb mark on bench here soon as well, when I first started I was barely able to do 135lbx3 and recently I was able to rep 155lbx10, my previous max was 285lb so the closer I get to that number the better I feel.

  13. I get it. It would be a cool thing to do for the Harley riders who love their parades. But for the rest of us you have ruined a day at the Dragon.

  18. Falls are better in the spring, as is the scenery. But Szalay's is better in the fall, it is a farmers market. In the fall they got roasted corn and stuff like that. If I had to pick one or the other I would pick spring. If you are hiking then hit Deer Lick Cave.

  19. I've always wanted an easy rack. I have strapped frames to a backpack, and once bolted 2x angle iron from the footpegs to the grabhandle in a big Y and strapped the frame to that. Strapped on a bike shipping box once back in carless days.

  27. Is the $10 per bike entry to cover the oil cleanup after they've gone?

  28. Luckily I know a scrub with a toolbox that does good work for very reasonable rates At some of the prices people have quoted on the thread I would learn to do it myself too. I'm usually lazy about doing "difficult" things on the bike myself but big prices for simple things changes the motivation.

  29. You may be able to find some decent dualsport tires to run on the track with your current wheel/brake setup. Do you have a 19" rear and 21" front?

  30. If we swapped bikes, you'd probably fall in love with the orange beast and I'd never catch you to get my bike back. I'd let you take some laps at the Kartway on it sometime though since it's fenced in

  32. This is truly a my loss is your gain deal. I bought this tomtom rider about a month ago off of a forum member and was suppossed to be in excellent condition. Well when I got it all looked good till i went to mount it an put it in its craddle and realized it had a crack in it and the unit would not hold tight enough to engage the charging pins, previous owner said he knew nothing about it. Well I did manage to Macgyver it and make it work and used it for a few weeks with no problems. One of my work mates seen I had it and said he had one he would have sold me if he known I wanted one. Long story short I got his and it was in better shape so now I no longer need this one. Here is what I did to make it work. First i soldered two solder berries on the charging terminal to make them stand out more and second thing I did was wrap a zip tie around the back of the bracket to make it tighter where you could not see it when it was mounted on the bike. One other disclaimer is this does not include the dock battery cable because I only had one and im using it, they can be had on ebay for around $20. Now for the good part, It's all there, actually its more than all there because ill give you all the mounts and cords and stuff from both units that I dont need. I works great, nothing wrong with the GPS unit itself. I have done all the updates and map share updates there are. Have both AC (w/220 adapter) and the cigarette lighter car charger. SD card with pre loaded maps of the canada and U.s. Carrry bag and strap Bluetooth ear piece head sets See pic for all you get....... I only want $50 delivered to you or $40 and a tall boy if you pick it up from me, which is half of what I paid for it. Please ask any question I want full disclosure incase I missed anything. This can be a good useable unit(everything is there minus the battery cable) or to replace someones broken unit. What you see in the picture is what you get.

  35. Yeah I probably shouldn't of replied, since I really wasn't directing my experience at "retail" sales. Just putting out there what I know was/is happening at our shop, with UPS, and that may have something to do with when they say it's shipped, but actually hasn't. Havent bought from MSS in quite a while, kind of on a Revzilla kick now. Good luck. Hope you get your order (quickly!)
