As usual on OR you guys are way over thinking the topic. I just get in the fast lane and go about 5-10 miles under the speed limit.I find that is the perfect speed for texting while finishing off my value meal.I have never even spilled my beer while maintaining that speed!Believe me,if there is any trouble approaching from behind they will let you know by honking, waving their hands all over the place and flipping me off. Some even throw shit at my car...good thing I drive a clunker since that last DUI.3 points

The time finally came where I listened to others and did the right thing. I listened to you guys about not chopping up the Nighthawk and it paid off. I sold it after two days listed of Craigslist. I then spent time talking to Brian and Derek about my needs in a bike and we landed on the Yamaha FZ6 or Kawasaki Z750s. The Z750s was hard to come by and the one we did look at was in rough shape and to much money. After seeing the Kawasaki we took a long road trip to northern parts in Michigan to only be let down by people who stated their bikes were in mint condition. Hopes were down after that 14 hour day though we did not stop looking and we then found the diamond. Brian and Derek were extremely helpful and left work early to commute to Louisville Wednesday afternoon. I had high resolution pictures prior to the drive and an email chain from the original owner discussing the bike. I was holding back my eagerness to get down there as I did not want to be let down again. Well, I was not. The bike was as stated and was in mint condition. I was starring at my new 04 Yamaha FZ6 with 7,800 miles. It is so beautiful and so nice that I almost did not believe I was going to purchase it. The bike came with a new Puig windscreen, a clean fender delete already done and just a well maintained bike. It does need new tires but that is pretty much all it needs. I then got geared up for my long journey home (6 hours). It was cold and then wet when it started raining about 30 minutes away from home. I could not stop smiling as this bike is amazing. Smooth and powerful yet comfortable. Thank you again to all who helped in the process. I have more pictures but am lazy at the moment.2 points

Always thought it was funny when people call themselves "liberals", but they only think liberally about few subjects. Sent from my Z958 using Tapatalk1 point

Yep. Most places in the world (except here), it is based on the word liberty. A liberal economy means a free market economy. Here, liberal means democratic socialism. It is a funny word.1 point

My sister is a long haul over the owner operator. She concurs with your statements. Whole different breed of truckers these days, they are asshats.1 point

Of course, none of this is proven fact. To me it's just the way things seem to have developed in the last 15 years or so. Our customer base has grown tremendously via easterner owned trucking companies and drivers, but they seem to be the biggest problem we have when it comes to old junk trucks, barely legal, staying on the roads and accident involvement. But these numbers could be due to the bigger percentages of them driving here now days vs American driver's who know/respect the law1 point

I think you need to pick one or the other, if you try and do both you will suck at both. But there are always exceptions to any rule.1 point

You don't NEED a bike for the gap trip though! Something wrong with mtns, a pool and moonshine?1 point

for the millionth time the bike being sold was my decision and she told me not to sell it. What's the point of having $5500 sitting in the garage not getting any use and depreciating?1 point

Don't buy the book Brandon, I already have the PDF version. I will crank it out on the work copier/printer and throw it in a binder. You will have to tab it out if that is your thing.1 point

Craigslist and people suck. They were actually bent that you would not let them joy ride it with no cash? Looked at three bikes this weekend that were listed as excellent condition. 2 looked as though they had been through a cornfield, laid down on both sides, and both were dirty as fuck. I know condition is subjective, but what the fuck! Ready to board the @Tonik trane of hate!1 point
