Jake's got the right attitude. On a holiday weekend, police are playing a numbers game. They're going to have a high visual presence to deter speeding and enforce limits, but I would find it shocking if they were not concentrating almost exclusively on major highways and main roads. More traffic = greater effect and potential for catching someone. Believe it or not, they would prefer for people to see them and slow down, rather than having to write a bunch of tickets. Also keep in mind that police officers are just human beings with a job to do. They would much rather be at a barbecue with their families and friends than at work on a beautiful day. Some may be jealous of your fun and act vindictively in response, but many will look at you and think "Nah... Not today." Have fun guys. I need to get my XR street-legal for one of these back road jaunts. I don't expect anyone to wait up for me. Maybe I could keep up with the cruiser folks who are more interested in the scenery, while I see if i can keep it pinned in 5th through the turns2 points

Just kidding. It's an 08 GSXr 1000. Still not sure why I bought it, but it's fast and I liked it. Two brothers exhaust with PC5.... Guess that means I'm back on a sport bike.1 point

Fucking software is horrible on this shit show of a forum. I've worked on aprilia before, no thanks. They sound good and are fast but as Pauly has said before, they're fucking garbage.1 point

I understand how the whole trackers and cookie s thing kinda works when you are shopping online and they tailor the ads you see by what you are shopping for. That doesn't bother me. I just wish that it would also recognize when you have made a purchase of said items and are no longer interested in looking.1 point

Made it to Cameron MO, north of KC. Went around the city to avoid rush hour. Nice country trek. Dome of Hate had to kick in hard. Blasting east across 36 there was a massive storm coming down from the north. Just got checked in and blamo it hit. Massive rain, wind and hail. Tomorrows target is Ft Wayne IN. Going to avoid all the major cities.1 point

Hey Rusty, Hey buddy. I don't know why you'd come and rain all over my post. I have never done that to anyone in any forum. If you would like your own thread and promote MTD please do so with the knowledge that I would never incorporate STT in the information you're sharing with others that do track days. In addition, I don't think your information is accurate. Take for example, what MTD offers on NCM per the website Early Registration $210/day - $375/weekend Standard Registrations $235/day - $425/weekend and this is what STT offers on NCM for STT members $460.00 Not certain how you obtained 125 dollar difference in either category. Riders that enjoy STT or MTD do so because of personal choice. I would hope that all could be happy and share in what we are all really here for; the friends, the family, and the fun a track day offers. In closing, I wish you well, thank you for reading my reply, and if I did something inappropriate please let me know.1 point

And finally to the 20 seconds difference... In ANY group if a 20 second difference, you are looking at a bump. If you are running 20 seconds slower than the fastest "I" rider, that's probably over 2:00/lap. Not gonna happen... So, to that point in regards to safety, we will bump when we see these types of things. No different than "A" Group. Fastest guy is running 1:30 and you are running a 1:50... That's "I" Group pace. There will not be a true baseline for times. We do not feel lap times are the top indicator. However... They will be used in reference at times like this kind of idea. What are those baselines? I feel differently than most. I hate lap times. I can find a guy in "A" that can run a 1:36 on his purdy laptimer. Has a great session of bench racing with his buddies and shows that one lap he squeeked out that high 1:36. Issue is he was on fire, out of control, murdering his lines and turn in points, etc. Had he slowed down and rode smart and with a reserve, he'd run a 1:39. That guy needs help. He's going to pop can his bike and possibly hurt someone else for a stupid lap time. On the other side, I use lap times to show the difference in what we work on vs. what they were doing prior. I can take a guy and he run a 1:40 and just cannot get into the 30s. I work on lines in the carousel and key hole and we drop 2 seconds instantly. This then is compared and shows him that with the same effort, he is working easier and more efficiently and the result is a faster lap time. Efficiency and smoothness is what I want. Not a damn lap time. Plus, a single lap time os pointless in a track day. Segement work is ideal and what you really need to use those timers for. If I had it my way, I would ban lap timers for most rider...1 point
