  1. slightly less gay this time. Had this bike since end of april and never posted up because first i was embarrassed about ADHD and buying bike, second it was sort of materialistic thingy i never wanted to be associated ever in my life.Loving the vstrom and always riding it meant i never rode this bike at all other than some in town commute. I never liked the bike and never could forgive myself for buying it. Wanted to sell it to get the remorse down and always thought no one in OR would know except couple of folks. But since some new tires went in i been riding it bit more and the more i ride the more i love it. to the point i might even bring it to some group rides if i can get used to it. Hence to make long story short, just wanted to share the bike. At least for me i feel good and almost feel like getting a fresh breath of air when some one posts and shares their new love of life. I feel part of that happiness. Hopefully some one else gets that joy from this. And rather than just posting a pic and calling ti a day i thought i would make a short video to stretch that excitement 30 secs. so no more weeks of waiting and repeating the crap storm in short i am trying to say is i am not trying to show off a new bike, just sharing what i love to do which is make videos. watch in HD please as you might guess its a whole lot of dark room and flashing light crapshoot.

  2. I don't hate Ducati but can never see myself buying one. I don't have any use for character in a bike, while I can wrench some I have no desire to. I break shit, almost everything I ride or drive so I want to be able to replace it cheaply and quickly without remorse. Getting a Ducati to perfection and throwing it off the side of the road would be a waste of time and effort. How a bike looks doesn't factor in very highly on my buying criteria and I think most Ducatis are beautiful but wouldn't every pay extra for the good looks. I don't care how a motorcycle sounds either. I'm far from a "greenie" but I can't wait until silent electric motorcycles become useful, that's why my bikes keep the stock quiet exhaust. It's also a reason for me to ride in front on most group rides, I hate listening to loud motorcycles. I really want a good automatic bike too, shifting gears is such a tiresome ordeal and hopefully will become unnecessary. The Multistada on paper is just about as good as it gets and for the right person is perfection. IP falls into that narrow group of people that are capable of riding and working on them to get the most out of it, I totally get why he loves that bike. The BMW S1000XR also looks good on paper, I'm hoping Honda, Kawasaki or Yamaha make a bike that reaches the Multi or the XR benchmarks. Plus they are all junk and I'm not a fag.

  4. Ducati considers them proprietary but most of them are available from online sources if searched for hard enough. Several of the online Ducati dealers have full parts fiche breakdowns for free (Ducai Omaha is one). You will get a sad rendition of a wiring diagram in the back of the owners manual. A full electrical section does come in the workshop service manual.

  5. So a couple things. Only the scrambler model is made outside Italy as far as I know. The Starbucks thing is a joke, I can't stand coffee and you will never find my bike parked in front of one. Now a pub or at a bike night, sure, I am proud of the bikes I own. The way I treat my 2007 Sportclassic is borderline on an unhealthy obsession with making it as unique and stunning as you can make a well used bike. I have spent almost as much on upgrades to the bike as I paid for it new back in 2008. What I have created though is something that nobody else in the country has and for the most part would be almost impossible to reproduce due to the number of custom and one off parts. As with all things mechanical the styling may not be for everybody but I gave up comfort for what I feel is beauty and uncompromising performance. She is a 375lb (wet) motorcycle with dyno proven 90hp and 67ftlbs of torque, oh and over 25K miles at this point. It does get ridden. Service on mine is oil change every 3500-3750 miles; belt tension, valve check and oil change every 7500 miles; Belts replaced at 15000 miles or two years. Here is a picture of it shortly after buying her. The only noticeable thing in the picture to me that isn't stock is the rear lights. I already put the fender eliminator and wrap around LED lights on it. This picture I took last fall after I pretty much have reached all the possible things to change on the bike to make it my own.

  6. Yea, well my bike is made by young Japanese chicks dressed in kimonos with no underwear, small perky breasts and hairy sideways vaginas.

  8. Bought a chain from RD last August and it failed less than a year from installation. I am very anal about cleaning and living chains and have never had one fail before 15k-20k. Clearly the chain has a defect which has nothing to do with RD, but Michael very quickly (like within 15 minutes of initial email) had customer support call, setup a prepaid return to the manufacturer and get a new chain coming no charge! This is as good as it gets with after sales support! You just gained a lifetime customer.

  10. I recall when a certain fellow named Ben was showing me how cool Tapatalk was to use when I met him for the first time at a motorcycle shop near Lancaster when they were having a pig roast in the cold. It was only then that I began to use it. It helps me to keep current on the latest shenanigans the usual suspects are up to. Haha! . Sent from my VK700 using Tapatalk

  11. I thought this was going to be your "I bought a busa" thread, you teasing bastard. I have two tire gauges, an Accuguage I bought at an auto parts place for about $10, & a Motion Pro liquid filled one that was considerably more expensive & guaranteed to some professional degree of accuracy. Both read exactly the same. The Accuguage goes with me & the Motion Pro hangs on my garage wall.

  13. Didn't buy anything yesterday, but Prime is the shit. $80/year for free shipping pays for itself quickly, and 2-day shipping is awesome. They make their money off me when I pay $6 to rent Zoolander fucking 2 for 48 hours though. I always rationalize it by saying, "eh... $6 is less than I'd spend on a beer and a burger, and I stayed in instead."

  16. It was spring time, we were buried so far in the mud we couldn't get the doors open. Had to pop the T Top's off. I stood on the hood while mom passed me the chinese food were trying to get home before it got cold, and our Manhattan's. Didn't spill a drop.

  18. Cool CB. I remember you talking about the engine build, but I don't think i'd seen pictures. Ride it to bike night and put a for sale sign on it... No CL scammers or people who don't call back. LBTS. GLWS.

  20. I would take pretty much any Vette over the Tesla also. I learned how to drive in a 66. Mom sold that and bought a 74 right after. That thing was a rocket, I made a lot of money growing up in Detroit with that car. It was a shame when she and I put it over (not thru) a fence and onto the 8th green of a a golf course one night.

  25. I'm in the same boat as IP, I love my 2 Ducati's. Neither is a perfect bike and I will agree with everything so far on the service intervals and cost. I bought the first one (07 sport classic) without ever riding it and I have no intentions of ever getting rid of it. My second Duc is my '06 749 superbike that I picked up just for track riding and isn't currently street legal. As much as people claim to hate the looks of the 749/999 series I dig them and the price was right.

  27. You buy Ohlins, and he needs more biz from us? You just fed him for the month! But you're dead on....Mike is one good dude. I always consider RD first, discounts aside....it's the sweet customer service that keeps me.

  29. Okay I'm officially back bitches. Even though the Mod-o-saurus unbanned me yesterday I wanted to be a good sport and did a self imposed 24 ban to serve the entire 48 hour that I agreed to when I entered the contest. And yes I discovered the bug and it was purely by mistake and if the site were in any kind of danger or compromised in any way I would have immediately contacted Ben to tell him what I knew. BUT... opportunities to get under @Tonik's skin don't come around often and I wanted rub it in a little bit before the gig was up. Which I had full confidence in him that he would figure it out on his own. But I knew it was just eating at him till it was resolved so, mission accomplished.

  31. It was good seeing the regulars out there and meeting some new folks. @jhughes - Sorry we didn't have time to hangout more @ludwb675 - It was nice to put a face with the name. Good to see you and Dave. @RHill - Thanks for the feedback on my lines, and the 1/2 lap tow until I couldn't see you anymore

  32. Not trying to be a dick either, but there are other skewed perceptions that need to be cleared up it would seem. I most certainly did ask one of your co-conspirators to reveal the details of the bug. He said not until the ban was over. Second, Tapatalk is not a legitimate app. It is a major privacy invasion for the people that use it, and to a certain extent to the people that don't that are reading threads where Tapatalk users have posted pics. It really is some bad shit. Surprised you used it for any reason at all. Now, I do agree that you never texted me asking for clemency. You skipped right past that and went straight to asking for a reward for finding the bug. But you know how bug bounties go, you disclose, do not abuse and keep it a secret until the owners have a reasonable chance to fix it. And now the big one, the idea of changing the ban for you three from expiring Monday to Tuesday wasn't 'extra', nor a 'punishment'. It would have simply been the fair thing to do. You know me, I am fair as hell. You agreed to the possibility of a 48 hour ban. Because of the bug you were only banned for 24 hours. Changing it to end on Tuesday would have only been a 48 hour ban, as originally agreed to. So, all in all, I would say I have been a damn nice guy on all of this. You should give me rep or points or something.
