Being able to set cruise control and lean my seat back on the way back home was worth it after that meal....4 points

i will be getting microwaved for 22 days straight, no free weekends to ride nor edit it will be well over a month before i can post some videos. Pics i did not take much, got some videos in this new to me camera which has a steep learning curve, hopefully i got some good footage. Here is the group pic @Casper or if other mods have permission in back end/ will it be possible to create common Epic ride gallery so any one can upload images into it?3 points

WV 3 day Trip Sept. 8, 9 and 10. Finally made it! Day 1 · 47 - just a connector to 16 · 16 south - 16 is fun but it's still a hodge podge of good surface and bad. Took it to RT 4 · Rt. 4 was curvy but kind of crappy pavement and I don’t remember exactly why but I was glad to be done with it. · Rt. 15. Very curvy. Fun. Varying pavement but lots of new. Would do it again. Stayed in Elkins here: https://attheforks.com/about/ 6 room hotel. OK rooms with a GREAT view. Restaurant was fantastic!!! Best steak we’ve had in a long time. We were quite pleasantly surprised with the restaurant. The inn itself has very little curb appeal but it’s fine inside. Day 2 · From Elkins 33 south to about Hinton and then turned back around and did it again. This is a must do road in the area. The part in VA is a blast although the pavement is much nicer in WV. · 250 south of 219. The northern part had lots of construction. They are repaving a lot of it but it’s in various stages. One lane for about 4 miles?? I think they will be done with this in a few weeks so it will be great then. 250 south of 28 is fun and it is CRAZY ASS GIGGLE worthy fun south of 220 in VA. OMG! I changed my route plan for day 3 so we could do this part again. Did I mention crazy fun? There a few really tight turns with varying camber so be aware!!! Stayed Staunton, VA here: http://www.stonewalljacksonhotel.com/ Beautiful historic hotel in a really neat city. A little pricey but it was nice. We ate at the Shenandoah Pizza and Tap House. Good pizza and LOTS of craft beers. There were at least 5 other cool places to eat within walking distance. Day 3 · Hit 250 back up north to 220. It was just too much fun to not do again. · Took 220 to 39 north. 220 is not my favorite road but there are a couple of nice sections through the woods. · 39 in VA is another amazing road. It is just a blast. Nice pavement. Very little traffic. Very little residential or incoming roads. 39 in WV is still fun but more traffic and you start hitting cities and houses in sections. · 16 from 30 to about RT 4 is in crazy bad shape. I think this part must’ve gotten hit by the flooding as I don’t remember it being this bad. It was never perfect by any stretch but it was a lot worse. · RT 4 to 36. Rt 36 just starts off with a bang. There’s about 3 miles or so of really fun turns. It’s still curvy after that but the first part is the best. We got lost and had to sit through a parade so we had to cut a good portion of our last day off because we ran out of time but overall, the trip was great. WV and VA have some great roads. Did just under 900 miles. We trailer to Marietta so that is our start and end point and not included in the mileage. Must do list: · 33 south near VA best part · 250 south of 220 is crazy! · 39 just north of 220 is a blast!2 points

Here is the best location to post any videos/pictures you have from the Epic Ride events. This will be utilized for all ride/events and we can keep an ongoing thread with all the pictures. Think it will be cool in the end after we've had several years of pictures.1 point

I personally have ordered 3 different kits on eBay. All 3 from different sellers from China. They all have turned out great. Sure each of them had some minor imperfections but for $354 I will not complain. 2 of the kits went on bikes I flipped. When I was finished the bikes looked like they were OEM. It does take some patience and finnangling fitting the fairings. The final kit was for a 1000rr I purchased for myself. I think it looks awesome. This was OEM here is the eBay fairings note: For Honda you don't have to worry about color match with tank since it has a plastic cowl over it. All 3 of my kits have been for a Honda. The color match on the tank would be my biggest concern for a gsxr. Fairingdeal was 1 of the companies I dealt with on eBay and they seemed the best with communication and you could contact them about color match.1 point

I got at least 3 or 4 middle fingers, but a few were kind enough to wave. I started out waiving until Tonik flipped me his....then his whole group were the lucky winners of my finger1 point

@DUBIE has his game face in his first pic, LOL. Hope fun was had by all. I would've come out for the rain date if I didn't have a 6hr journey and in need of a rear tire. Alright, I'll stop blabbing so you guys can post more pics.1 point

Hmm, my work phone is a 6..... want to trade that under the condition you cant turn it off, and you have to respond to any alerts that it may come up with.1 point

The media is a f'ing joke anymore, that is why I don't watch the news or any other media outlet. It's not about facts, just shock, drama, and ratings. When you read this they make the rider the one at fault for an asshat pulling out in front of him. Similar to the state trooper story when a trooper with no lights pulled right out in front of a rider who t-boned the car and died. The media made it sound like the rider was at fault. Just sad, RIP brother!1 point

RIP rider. Of course the news report states he struck the turning car, not that the car had swerved in front of him. People just don't look to be sure they can make a turn, they just react when they see a gap in traffic1 point

Working on getting Nivin my footage from yesterday. Uploading to Dropbox as we speak. I'll also post raw video here via the yewtoob because I fail at editing.1 point

last night couldn't sleep much despite being dog tired as I had to wake up early for work, then though what the heck and went and looked through the videos. Looks like I can edit together a decent one. The hand held camera was a fail with me being overconfident and trying to manual focus and adjust every thing in few seconds. Plus the video it records looked all jittery but still some good clips from go pro for a short and clean video I hope.1 point

I'll definitely make it out to the next group rides and do the same until I get a bike! Next time I'll bring the cable extension so I can mount the Go Pro on the front of my car like I wanted for some better footage.1 point

Yes big kuddos to @snot and @TheBrown57 She jumped right in there and was taken charge while us other riders had our thumbs in our butts ( only because we were not sure what to do for a downed rider. And yes the brown for fetching a land line and traffic buffer. Without him slowing down traffic that curve could of been worse. The truck was parked right in the moddle of the curve. Hellmitt and myself had to split the difference around it. He went left and i had my rear locked up dodging the truck a motocycle and two people standing on the shoulder.1 point

Good riding from everyone in our group today. Great meeting some new folk I'd not shook hands with yet, and always good to see the familiars as well. The guy on the ThruxyR got lucky, but still hurt pretty badly. We got there just after it happened. He was wearing an oldschool open faced helmet and his face was battered and bloody. He was spitting out some teeth, his right wrist was severly broken, and his left leg had a hefty puncture wound. In and out of consciousness at first, but seemed to recover as Jen and the EMT did their best to assess him. Hopefully no skull fractures - but a fullfaced helmet could've saved him some damage. Definitely target fixation, no signs of hard braking - just blew the turn and down, and either he or his bike took out the sign post. Big kudos to my wife @snot for diving in to help the rider and @TheBrown57 who played safety car behind our group today. He made sure the 911 call happened at the nearest house, and also acted as traffic buffer since this was in a blind downhill corner. Cant believe none of this guys group were helping this man out? Everyone was standing along side the road when we got there....W the fuck?!1 point

Wasn't bad, but a little disappointed the front mount was shaking a little bit....on the higher speed runs, it got pretty ugly. Anytime....have a feeling the "slowing down" won't last long.1 point
