No, after that I gave that shit up. But man the blue smoke when we walked into the makeshift green room was impressive. People in the hotel room below them earlier in the day commented that when ever their AC came on their room filled with smoke too.2 points

Improved my tank bag power wiring by adding an SAE connector so I can pull the damn thing off and take it into the hotel at night. Not sure what I was thinking when I did the initial wiring.1 point

So I attended the 2016 FJR Eastern Owners Meeting this year. This was my first big rally with the FJR folks and it was a blast. I left Thursday, ran across 33 to Ravenswood, WV and over to route 16. I stayed on 16 all the way through and picked up 52 in Virginia going over Big Walker Mountain. What a day. 350 miles of just awesome tight and technical twisties. This gave me amble time to get used to my new top case. I got to meet up with some old friends and meet alot of new ones at the rally. This year, there was 105 people registered. Friday, I rode with some of my Canadian/New York friends on a provided 270 mile loop. Once again, just endless great roads and scenery. Our pace was brisk, but not too wild. We kept our group sizes small which makes passing much easier. Then after an all day ride, the parking social hour lasted to throughout the night. Saturday I decided it was a good day to just go out on my own and see how lost I can get. Well i definitely did. I got on a secondary road, which turned into a mud road, so i just turned around and picked another random road. I made this day short, due to the previous 2 days were still wearing on me. Saturday evening was our banquet dinner, which consisted of a catered meal with several free gifts from many companies, door prizes, 50/50, silent auction, and a fugliest Hawaiian shirt contest. I didn't win a free set of tires from Bridgestone, but I did get a set of Grip Buddies. I tried them out on the way home, not bad. Today was go home day. I was going to 2 lane it all the way home, but the fog was terrible. I slabbed it back 77 and made it home about 9am. All in all, I had a great time and it made me really recognize how great roads Virginia has. The rally did have a few casualties. One deer hit on Thursday (Rideable), one low side Thursday (Brand New 2016, Rideable), one low side Friday (2014, Completely Totaled), and an automatic shift FJR shift solenoid failure. (Cracked Sub-frame Mount, He loaded the bike in a U-haul van last night and the van broke down this morning, rough weekend for him). Here are some pictures and a short video from the trip. It was epic. About 30 minutes before they were to go on I went to the side of the stage where the sound boards were...my kid was ther....it is all blocked off. He pulled me over the barriers and we hauled ass back to the green room. At which point I started sending f u texts to @Casper to rub it in. I totally ditched his ass by the stage to get myself in. Here is my review that I emailed to a few friends: It was a small venue show obviously, maybe 500 peeps tops. They are real showmen and really engaged the audience. Talking crap about hackers, pointing out the obvious sausage fest. Involving the audience on a bunch of occasions. In a fun way. Method Man spend a fair amount of time crowd surfing. That dude has a hell of a voice btw. Red Man was a real showman and they had their show down, very professional with a bit of choreography but it looked natural. And they laid out a good set, started out with the early stuff and progressed through to the present. Ended it with just Red Man and DJ Dice on stage doing a two songs from a new as yet unreleased album. They worked their asses off, they did not just collect a check. BTW, the bill to clean their hotel room was 20K.1 point

call them up, see if you could buy the 12 day at regular price and use two of the days this year?!?! You would have to work out the numbers to see if it is worth it, seeing that the package "normally" goes on sale before/around Christmas I have 1 day left in this years package and already purchased the 12 day for next year....so I'm going to see if using a day is possible1 point

Me either, but something has to generate money for more track time Setting my personal best at Main....see a few spots that could be improved upon, but it will take a lot of work to get into the teens. Guess I can no longer say "I haven't had a good, issue free, day at Summit"1 point

That bike is something else, I have no doubt if you rode it you would be out looking for one. I ended up only being .3-.4 off my best on the gsxr at summit on only the third day riding the bike. This was probably my favorite weekend of track shenanigans ever. 58 Days until we leave for Barber.1 point

That's awesome man!!!! My wife is creeping up on the 80l lose mark and I know she will more that excited when she gets to the 100 lb. bench mark. Between the two of us we have lost the weight of our oldest 17 yr old child. When we both loose 20 more we want to make up some before and after pictures its going to be so drastic.1 point

@Ghostryder1krr It was probably me who gave you the advice to check out AFJ. The forum was far more active several years ago, but it has definitely fallen off in recent years. Many of the members have given up street riding and just ride track now. Brandon is still the man-in-charge of the forum, but he's also trying to run a shop and his life and he's not really an IT kind of guy, so the forum duties go untended. Try giving the AFJ shop a call and ask for Brandon or Eric and see if either is willing to add you to the forum, but truthfully, you can get as much information on rides happening without being a member. You can lurk as a guest and still read the threads, you just can't post. Your best bet is to hit some of the locations where bikers met up: Comet on Tuesday nights, Fuel Coffee on Saturday mornings, Euro Bike nights (in Milford across from MJ's on Main) on the last Tuesday of every month (that'd be tonight!) and just BS with the folks. Even the LocalRiders forum has been dead for months, but they also have a group on FB that you can be added to (if you do FB). Majority of the rides in your area (SW OH) won't be posted on OR since most of the members are located in central and NE. Now that the brutal heat of the summer is subsiding, I'd bet you'll see an uptick in rides posted. If I see anything, I'll keep you in the loop.1 point

stalled out at 290 for the last few months, though with all the travel and having to eat out it could have been worse. this week started back on salads for lunch and dinner with a bit of protein mixed in. sticking around 1000-1500 calories per day this week to shock my body into loss. will probably keep this up for 10-15lbs then level off for a week or two then back on the 1000-1500 calorie burn again. aiming for 250 by february which is about 10lbs per month. i'd like to be around 230/240 by next spring which is where my losses will stop. i might be able to hit 210/220 but i would be pretty cut at that point and i'm not sure i have the dedication to spend that much time in the gym still have lost over 100lbs and kept it off for 2 years now so i'm not too bummed about my current situation. long haul, not the short road.1 point

Found a new great snack or meal idea this weekend. We bought some "Flatout light" flatbread, and made pizza with it. Used a organic sauce, turkey peperoni and low fat mozzarella cheese and baked in on our toaster oven on a pan and it cam out wonderful. Total calories is right around 275 and its a decent size pizza (10"x6") and very inexpensive. Ill click a photo the next time I make it.1 point

Well I did it, got that 250lb monkey off my back. Lost 7 pounds this last week doing what I said I was going to do. Think I will stick with it through this week to make sure it stays locked in and take a couple more lbs off and hit the 50 lbs lost since February bench mark. Then it will be back to the regularly scheduled program. Here we go again....1 point

Hey, no mod power trip here just doing what I felt was right for the forum. But if we want advertisers coming on here at will for free selling their stuff I guess we will have it that way. Or we could save the opportunity to make new sponsors and give @Casper some funds to keep this place well oiled. If I'm wrong I apologize just thought I was doing my job.0 points
