Video clips taken from ride. Not the best quality because I am an old fart and can't be taught a new trick. Everything is a rough draft2 points

You might want to butter up jerry to sell that pristine looking hawk of his. That would be a great street bike. OR feejer fold itself is looking to be getting bigger, @JustinNck1 @thompsonian @Howabusa @Blitz @PhilD'oh! @El Toro Joe @drc32-0 @Al Z. Heimer @NinjaDoc smuggler is awesome, well made, and so much useful and handy in the way we can access it. Plus makes the bike look better pauly was fondling the sweet velvet lining inside when ever we would stop for a break hehe2 points

I'm going to disagree with Tim; my experience with those motors has been good, I'm on my third one in 40 years. One of them still running for a lady I know. Is the crack all the way through? Getting oil out of it? In order to tig or brazed, it has to be cleaned and the crack stop-drilled at it's end 1/16" drill is good. Clean it with soap, water, and compressed air acetone doesn't seem to like tig/brazing. I would not use JBWeld as suggest in the video. If that stuff falls into the crankcase who knows what all it'll fuck up. Someone sells aluminum bars that a MAP gas torch will melt. Seen a Sportster primary cover fixed with one of them. Two years now and holding up good. There's videos on youtube about the aluminum stick and MAP gas. Also on Kohler engine repairs. Find Kohler's website and download the manual for that motor (free). Also order any gaskets and pieces you need. I love my local dealer, but Kohler's site is cheaper even with shipping.1 point

Common problem with these engines, the saying goes you have to have "courage " to buy one. Honestly I'd replace it with a new or used engine. These things are built to be disposable. You should be able to replace it with a new engine for around $500 and maybe find a mower with a good engine bad tranny you can get for a song. I sold my old LTD mower for $100 because the guy wanted the motor. Think you will just be chasing gremlins with this one even if you had it repaired.1 point

just buy an all in one presure/durometer/coolant gauge. the temp it freezes at is more important than 50/501 point

Well it's been a slowly oozing public knowledge about this addict failing to quit motorcycling again. Last year sold both bikes- vstrom and Daytona by the end of fall. Was some what content with the decision about quitting (third attempt in 3yrs) and living along when some one did a Leonardo decap style inception about FJR into this volatile brain. Well the thought kept brewing and before the first snow hit right before winter a used 2nd gen fjr came along for good price and I couldn't resist because of good old price and being way more foolish than I thought I would ever become I set out to rip up the bike and upgrade and finish up the maintenance. Drowned few more Hundys into it and this is it. Blue Piggy with some lipstick Ready for touring duties1 point

oh and I broke the nut off my presta valve after topping it off. holding up so far, maybe I'll break the front one off and save more unsprung weight1 point

Time for an action(evidence) cam? FWIW I rode 28mi on the bike path , mold seams not worn off tires and I've met my year's worth of idiots there. Saw an Ambo managing a guy with a rashed cheek at a yield/merge and parents seem to make a game of putting babies in the path of oncoming cyclists for points or something, extra for blind corners.(planners love corners to keep speeds down at the loss safety.) One corner has a sign posted blind corner, it's just average riverside foliage that could be trimmed. Once a woman gets assaulted the shrubs on straight sections are radically shopped back proper quick. A mega loud horn is in my future. Also It was so sunny I remembered my bike is actually stealth satin forged carbon finished (TIL, that process)(not my pic , mine is too stealth to show up in a pic)1 point

Likewise! Good pace and great weather. Lotsa twisties...was like goin to the barber....took a little off the sides!!!! And yes, your bike is sweet! Too bad we had to ride thru that muddy water. Nice exhaust note too. ..Speaking of exhaust, were you burning some race fuel or additive? Several times while on your 6, I got a whiff of something that reminded me of being at the racetrack!1 point

ill accept cash. i always take cash. for those who want to bring buns, need 30 hot dog/sausage buns and probably as many hamburger buns. maybe less. there's a convenience store a 5 min walk from my place so if we run low it's no biggie to go get more.1 point

You should have seen the amount of people in SEO. Trust me, there was no "cruising" being done in our group.1 point

I took the picture after finishing up a reloading session. The AP ammo on the rh side was mil-surp but the rest was fresh off the press. All 1000+ rounds are on enblocs. Amazing that I still have 20-30 more empty clips I didn't use.1 point

This was what the little birdies were telling me about for a while but I kept my mouth shut..lol Congrats Doc, I think people are seeing every day what we are doing with these ST machines and want a piece of it. The days of them being labeled slow and heavy are over. I've never felt like the FJR was my grove after riding a few but the Connie songs my song for sure. Only thing I would replace her with is a Motus and my bank account says that will never happen.1 point
