Field was about 18 riders. Got off to start and all were just going around the loop at a decent clip, nothing to crazy. There was a decent head wind on the curvy area by the park. I think on the third lap in a cash preem was announced, which really didn't cause an attack until through the curvey areas with the last 300 meters of lap for an all out sprint. I tried, but still learning all the tricks and tactics, was out sprinted. Finshed 5th in preem sprint, not horrible but no $ for me! Will be working on sprints. Things settled back in and all stayed together. I made another error in taking back to back pulls into the wind, not by choice. No one would take my place, did earn some street cred in doing so though! After those 2 laps, the A group caught up with us and this caused an attack, which supposedly isn't allowed. Not supposed to hop onto the other group, but o well. Being at the back of the pack from my 2 pulls, I couldn't respond to go along. With 2 or 3 laps to go, I made it to the front of the pack. Feeling OK, I tried to bridge the gap, but couldn't and it didn't seem like others were working together to do so. I stayed at the front of the group and sprinted out the finish and finished third or 4th behind the lead group so overall like 8th. I know I was making a few mistakes when I was doing them, but wanted to see how hard I could push and still stay alive. See how many matches I've got to burn. I had an absolute blast and will be racing every Tues. https://www.strava.com/activities/978951493 https://www.relive.cc/view/9789514933 points

Southernmost Point at Key West today. Can you believe the government is paying me to do this? Snorkeling Friday, then returning home via the Smoky Mountains.2 points

The IP route is a long day but a great grouping of roads. Looking forward to hitting it again in June.2 points

Even with some wrong turns, we had a great time on the route. Gotta hit blood mountain again this year.2 points

This is VERY similar to the route that @JustinNck1 @snot and I took last year, except we ran 28 south of Highlands to War Woman to 75 to 180 to 19. Think @Isaac's Papa sent me the route. Anyway, it was about a 12hr day in all.....would've been back to Fontana quicker but I had to live up to my "wrong turn" nickname, so there were a few unexpected detours.....and maybe several miles of paved goat path ( ie beat-to-shit asphalt sidewalk ) that was what we though to be JoyceKilmer.....uh, IT WAS NOT. Recently got my new Zumo, so I'm hoping to lose my nickname soon2 points

I can only ride Sunday. We could plan a non-epic-rain-date-ride.1 point

I haven't taken it on long ride yet. It corners well enough to be entertaining. The lack of straight line speed might prevent me from becoming acquainted with any local officials.1 point

Pretty much what we said. Only about 40 miles of it as we went over the mountains. Then maybe 20 of light rain. It was never on the road. Its all good now. But it was interesting for a bit.1 point

So the position I was interviewing for is supervisor of manufacturing. All of it. They are actually considering putting me in charge of their entire manufacturing operation. Not sure if I'm the guy.1 point

So today was a triple digit run to El Paso, then a quick stop at a vap store cuz I dropped it at a buck ten. Hit the National Park north of there and made our way to Silver City New Mexico. We are on the south end of the mountains and Gilia National Park. Gonna be a great riding day tomorrow. And booked a really cool 1930's hotel downtown.1 point

Indeed. Assuming we go, we can help you unload and we will have space in our garage. The garage is $50 total, so split 3 ways it would be about $17 each. We will make a decision Thursday night whether or not we'll be running on the 14th. If it's going to be cloudy and chilly or just plain cold, we will not be going. Sunny and near 70 is what we're looking for. @RavioliG - Word of advice if you're new to Mid-O, do not go if it's raining. The track turns into a skating rink. I've never tried it but that's the reason AMA doesn't race there anymore...1 point
