Yes Tim. I never thought that I could get overwhelmed and overloaded on motorcycles . This place did it too me. Holy shit. I will go again sometime. Just too much to digest.3 points

I can bring my front stand, was already bringing rear. I have all my tire-change gear with me (spoons/rim protectors/jack stands for balancing/etc). Was trying to sleep until 2:30 this morning then head out around 3 but woke up around 12:30 and couldn't get back to sleep... there's no down-side to getting to the gap a little early. @NinjaDoc - see you there.3 points

Just over 4 days, a little more than 1300 miles, 4 states, & 2 countries. 4 women, 2 Ducati Monsters, 1 Yamaha R6, & 1 Silverado carrying a Supermoto and all the rest of our gear. Unfortunately our trip contained a crash not long after we crossed into Canada from MI, and after a 5 hour delay at a hospital we continued on without our injured rider. Luckily she only suffered broken bones and road rash... it could have been much worse - the whole thing happened almost right next to me and was very surreal. Once we arrived at the event, there were bikes everywhere at the campground (all kinds from old Royal Enfields to BMW GS1200s to Triumph Scrambers to Harley cruisers and a few supersports). There were 550 women that arrived for a weekend of camping, free drinks, karaoke, live bands and some really beautiful riding thru the Catskills of NY. The weekend was perfect for riding, until Sunday when we left for home. We left early trying to beat a storm, but still hit downpours thru PA that soaked us completely thru our raingear, so we had to stop to dry out and wait for the storm to pass. This was an epic journey for me as I've never taken a motorcycle trip, let alone go camping, all with women I'd never met in person either. I had such a great time meeting women riders from different states and going on my first all women group ride (there were 15 of us)! It was a blast and I hope to go back. And, yes there were lesbians there...2 points

My Ducati is oil cooled. They have the temp sensor located in the engine between the oil pump and the filter. It senses the oil before it gets cooled. On an oil cooled engine you want to read the max temp the oil gets to so you know how bad your engine is heating/overheating the oil. Anything above about 300f is cooking it off and really reduces it's life. If you read after the cooler you won't get a good sense of it's condition.1 point

Rode it the way it was designed to be ridden on my way home from work today. Incited road rage I imagine.1 point

That ferry is run by fairies. I thought Tony learned his lesson on this last August. Have fun & don't get arrested at DG.1 point

Grab a flashlight and look up at the bottom of the unit. It's usually a red square plastic button. It's a thermal circuit breaker and it should click lightly and stay in when pressed.1 point

We made it to Maryville yesterday in time to ride 100 miles. Trip down and up the Dragon. Ran over to Fontana Dam as well. We are 20 miles from Highlands now. Pics later. Service is rare. AT&T ? Traffic has been pretty light everywhere so far. Had 3 pretty clean runs on the Dragon1 point

I have ear plugs and a new helmet. I bought a Shoei GT-Air which is built for a naked bike like mine and is worlds quieter than my RF-1200. I used to think my RF-1200 was quiet until I rode with the GT-Air - what a difference. I have no-noise ear plugs that filter out noise (wind, etc) but still allow you to hear music thru a Sena. I recommend the ear plugs as well as the helmet.1 point

Been having issues with crank case fumes billowing out of the little cone filter I put directly on the calve cover breather lately and figured that was not a good look. Bought a few feet of 1/2 ID hose and relocated the breather back behind the motor hoping that the fumes would cool enough to not look like smoke. Did not work. Wondering if it would be kosher if I used a T fitting to tie that breather into the trans breather that then vents into the oil reservoir. Trans and crank case should be at the same pressure, shouldn't hurt, right? Oh, also I took a can of engine bright and a toothbrush to the motor cases below the carbs and hosed it down, so it doesn't have those super cool brown gasoline stains that let everyone know 'hey, I own a cool vintage bike'. Adios, street cred....1 point

Need at least a 2 amp usb port and a quality usb cable that charges at at least that rate. My solution was a battery tended usb adapter and and braidedheavy duty usb cable. Links to the stuff I have are listed below and I run two different GPS tracers and GPS navigation, usually Pandora and I leave my screen on all the time and it's always 100%when I get to where I'm going. I've ran my galaxy s5 and my galaxy S7 with this set up. https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-081-0158-Disconnect-Charger/dp/B00DJ5KEF4 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GJC4WRO/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=11 point

I think this would be a good goal for me as well. I have yet to complete a full loop at Mohican, but I figure if I can do 2 loops, I can do the 100k race, and not worry about death. Hardest thing is finding time to train. I can't just take off and leave my wife with both kids for a whole day, every weekend. There is a fundraising event in September(?) at Mohican. You get pledges based on the number of laps you complete. I think that would be a good reason to try to complete 2 laps this year, then maybe take the spin bike a bit more seriously in 2018, and be in 100k shape in June, 2018?-1 points
